I have struggled with weight issues since I was about 9 years old. In adding up all the weight I've lost the number is more than 300 pounds. My brother got banded about 20 months ago and he has been my angel of encouragement. He has lost all of his excess weight and spending time with him makes me know that this is a very different way to approach weight management.
I had my surgery with Dr. Lee Schmitt at Medical Center East in Birmingham on Monday May 21. The past two days (this is Wednesday May 23) have been much easier than I thought they might be in terms of pain and adjusting to the liquid diet.
