2 Year Surgiversary!!!!

Dec 09, 2008

I can't believe it has been 2 years since my surgery!  December 11th is the official day.  I can't believe it!  I have lost 205 pounds to date.  I still want to lose more.  I went for my yearly checkup with Dr. Gomez and he told me that I am doing great.  I have my good and bad days, but overall I feel great!  November 9th is my official birthdate, but December 11th is my day to celebrate a new life.  I thank God for blessing me.

Almost 15 months

It has been over a year since my surgery.  I can't believe that time has gone by so fast.  I can remember laying on the operating table, praying that I would survive.  I am now down 197 pounds.  I still have some more to go.  Everyone tells me how good I look.  I still think of myself being heavier.  I have had to buy clothes, because everything is too big.  I am a clothes addict.  I have always been that way.  This has been quite a journey.  I am glad that I had the surgery.  I am hoping that I can get motivated so I can lose the addtional 50 pounds I need to lose.  I am hoping and praying that I can accomplish this goal.

Almost one year

Dec 07, 2007

I can't believe it will be one year since my surgery on December 11th.  I am so afraid that I will gain all of the weight back.  To date I have lost a total of 165 pounds.  I am still hanging on to the old clothes.  I have a fear of going back to the old me.  I hope and pray that it won't happen.  Having the surgery was the best thing I could have done.  I know if my life would be cut short if I had continued at 427 pounds.  I still have a long way to go, but I am going to try really hard to make my goal.

I can't believe that is has been six months since my surgery.  I went for my 6 month check-up today and everything went well.  I have lost a total of 114 pounds.  My doctor said that I am doing really well.  My liver is back to it's normal size.  Before surgery it was enlarged.  Overall I feel good, just need more motivation to exercise.  I have the walk at home dvd, that I walk to sometimes.  Some of my clothes are too big, but I am going to wait a little longer to buy a whole new warderobe.  I have bought a few new things, but don't want to over due it.  I am looking forward to reaching my goal.

I was thinking yesterday, about how much better I feel since the surgery.  I am now down 90 pounds.  I will admit it hasn't been easy, but it has been well worth it.  I am still learning what foods work for me and what I should totally avoid.  I do know that I definitely need to increase my proteins because my hair is falling out.  I have been kind of sad because I take pride in my hair.  I hope and pray that this is temporary, I have now added a biotin supplement to my regimen of medicine.  I hope that this will help.

10 Week's Post-op

The past couple of months have been quite a journey.  I have had a lot of bad days and a few good ones.  I now have lost 65 pounds, I can't believe it!  I am finally starting to feel a lot better.  I had some female issues going on due to my weight changing, thank goodness it is now under control.  I am glad that it's starting to warm up, so I can walk outside for a change.  I can't tolerate the cold at all.  I am always wearing a jacket or under the covers at home.  I am looking forward to working and getting the weight off.

I have now lost a total of 53 pounds.  I can't believe that I am losing weight, I don't see a difference.  I am also incorporating more veggies into my diet.  The addition of a protein supplement has made a drastic difference.  I feel a lot better compared to a few weeks ago.  I have also been drinking powerade, my doctor suggested I drink it to increase my electrolytes.  Now I am hoping for warmer weather, so I can enjoy walking outside for a change.

I am now 5 weeks post-op.  It seems like yesterday when I was in tears from not being able to get comfortable in my own bed.  The nagging pain on my left side has finally subsided.  I still don't feel well though.  I haven't been getting enough protein and I feel so tired and run down.  I have lost a total of 43 pounds.  I bought a protein supplement and some protein bars.  I hope in another week, I will feel like a more energized person.

3 Weeks Post-op

Jan 03, 2007

It has been three weeks since my surgery.  I feel so much better.  I haven't had an asthma attack in over 2 weeks.  Before the surgery I was having an asthma attack every other night.  The attacks were so bad that it would wake me in the night.  In the first few days after surgery I was wishing I had never made the decision to undergo surgery.  I now feel differently.  I still am very sore on my left side, but I am hoping that will eventually subside.  I don't have a scale, so as far as I know I have lost 30 pounds.  I go back to the doctor in another week, so hopefully I will have lost more weight.  I am so excited!  I can walk without back pain and without losing my breath.

I can't believe it,  I am down 30 pounds.  It doesn't seem like it.  I can walk without being out of breath, that is definitely noticable.  I am also not having as many asthma attacks.  I am a little sore though.  I began my soft solid diet today.  I never knew tuna could taste so good.  I cheated though, I took a drink right after eating though.  I was so thirsty.
