Married at 17, stuck in a state I didn't want to live in. I had 4 children, two living. one miscarriage and one still born. The still born really sent me into a depression state. I slowly started gaining weight and suddenly found myself sick, very sick, doctors gave me two years to live. I had a new grandson by this time and he meant the world to me and not living to watch him grow was not acceptable. So I called the bariatric center and made an appointment.
I cannot believe how my life has changed. WLS saved my life. I gained confidence and returned to college and now have a Masters degree in social work. I have maintained my weight loss, but would still like to lose 50lbs. However if I never lose another pound but stay as healthy and happy as I am now I am OK with that.
So many feel it's impossible to lose hundreds of pounds and I want to spread the news that it is possible and life can be better.
