I guess my journey is finally starting. I have been obese all of my life and personally I am very tired of it. My current weight is 308, and I have a consult scheduled for Sept 20, 2004...yep thats right 2004 with Dr Reed in Guelph. I have been married for 5 years to the most wonderful man. We have a 4.5 year old boy who is my entire life. I love being outdoors with him and camping, but I want more energy to be able to do things with him. I am a very healthy person despite my weight. I do not currently have any co-morbidities, but I dont want to wait any longer and develop any either. We have a very strong family history of heart disease, diabetes, stroke.
I have been on xenical for 3 months now and have only lost 8lbs, it is extremely frustrating. I am so looking forward to my consultation. I know its 15 months away but hopefully time will fly by.
Well its going to fly faster then I thought. I was joking with Mannie and said...holy we have enough time to have a baby before my consult, and lo and behold I found out i was pregnant 2 weeks ago. We have been trying for 3 years now, and I cannot believe it is finally happening.....Weight is going great, I have only gained 3lbs in 7 months...so I think thats good. Jerk of an ob keeps refering to my size as a possible problem for delivery. If you ask me he is an idiot. I only weigh 10lbs more then when I had my son, and no one said anything then.
Well our daughter was born on June 3, weighing 8lbs 2.5oz, and she is a beauty. Weight gain ended up being 30lbs.(UGH) I think a lot of it at the end was water because I was just so swollen everywhere. Ankles were size of tree trunks..lol fingers, arms, face allllll puffy!! I ended up gaining more weight after my daughter was born. I think I just gave up and didnt care anymore. My highest weight has been 361lbs. Makes me sick to think I let my self get that big. I never pictured myself as big, I keep asking people why no one ever told me I was so fat..lol
I cannot believe that my consult is less then 2 months away. I could not be more excited to meet Dr Reed. I have really heard some amazing things about him.
Well I had my consultation with Dr Reed yesterday. He is amazing. He really made me feel like the decision to have WLS was definitely the right decision for me. His entire staff is friendly and outgoing. I am so excited to start the next stage of my new life. Bad news is my weight is 340. But Dr Reed said dont worry about it. Weight is going to be dropping sooner then I know it.
Hi again, I havent posted in ages but I post with wonderful news. I got my official surgery date and it is.......April 7, 2005. I was suprised to find out too that I was down 8lbs in about 6 weeks...that just made me say hmmm..lol
GROWLLLLL Dr Reeds office called last week to change my surgery date. I mean its only delayed for a week. I have been fat for 33 years so whats another week. He postponed it because he has to be out of town the evening of the 7th and doesnt want to leave me in any one elses care.
