Wow...I can't believe that  it is only 10 days to go.  I am on day 5 of the liquid diet.  It isn't really as hard as I thought it would be ... yes I'd love to eat for the sake of eating. It's a mental thing.  But I am doing well with just the liquids.  I am trying to just get things put together and my house cleaned but you know how that goes....

WooHoo!  I was approved!  I am scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, Oct. 23!  I am going for pre-op tests this coming Tuesday.  WoW!  I am excited and scared all at the same time.

Yeah! The six months is over.... Now it will be in the hands of the insurance company as they hold my fate.  WoW!  It brings me to tears.  I am so excited so scared and so excited!  But  I am afriad to get my hopes up.  Oh well .... luv to you all :)

Okay so... I went to my third weigh in and I didn't do so hot. I gained a couple of pounds since my last weigh in.  My parents came in for the weekend right before my appointment and it seems like that we sent the entire weekend eating.  I am working on my behavorial changes this month.  I am taking pop out of my diet. And trying to drink more water.  I also have to find a new vitamin to take.  My MD is supportive of my decision he just always seems clueless at my appointments...we always seem to have to start over each time I see.  I guess that is one of the disadvantages of being in a large practice.  It is kinda frustrating.  I got back all my lab work.  I have perfect cholestrol and I am no where near diabatic.  I have always said that I am a healthy "fat person".  I have been experiencing alot of left leg pain.  It is probably my sciatic nerve...although usually when it acts up it hits me in the butt.  But the doctor went ahead and took an x-ray to put towards my case.  I have no issues in my hip but I am starting to have early degeration and arthritis in my knee.  Oh well...I am going to have a sucessful month this month and only a few more to go.  :)

So I had my surgeon consult this past Thursday.  I really felt overwhelmed.  First they had the nurse weigh me and she asked me if I knew which surgury I was going to have...I said that no, I still had more questions...and she then said if I had to pick now which one.  I then said the Gastric Bypass.  She gave me some quick description and talked so fast that I just shook my head yes.  Then they sent in the physical theripist who gave me some bands and some exercises.  Then I met with Dr. McClellan who was great :) I asked questions and got realistic answers and help really comfortable.  Then she left and in came the "insurance lady"  who tells me that this will be a battle of the insurance company.  I explain that I have already started my 6 month diet.  She then tells me that I think that just having my vitals/weight taken and they are going to pay isn't going to fly.  That  I need to have behavorial changes and that I need to talk with a nuristionist.  Which I already knew.  And again at this time tells me when I START my 6month diet.  I again tell her that I started in February and my MD is supervising.  So she tells me that my MD will get a letter with what is needed. And that they will be contacting my insurance company to "verify benfits" which is very frustrating because I gave them my information after the seminar a month ago.  I thought that they would be prepared with that stuff.  Oh well .... 

Yeah - I have had my second weigh-in and I think I lost 2lbs.  Believe it or not the Medical doctor didn't even really talk to me about my loss.  He is being very supportive of my decision.  He wants me to be very forth coming in my "issues".  I usally don't complain about things that bother me ... now I am making a list.  I used to think I was a "healthy severly overweight person" now I am thinking I was in denial.  He wants me to go have a sleep study done to see if I may suffer from sleep apnea.  I don't think I do but I guess if it helps with getting my sugery approved then I am all for it.  I am also still trying to decide which surgery I am going to have.  They both have their plus sides and have worked for others.  I just have to have a few more questions answered to decided which is going to work for me ... Oh well ... I am off.   Talk to you all again soon!  Meeting w/the surgeon on March 15!! Yeah!!

Hello Everyone :)  My husband and I went to the Mercy Hospital information Seminar today.  It was interesting... my husband probably learned a few things. Myself I learned somethings about the surgeon.  Oh well ... but now I am not to sure which surgury I want to have.  Ahhh well I am going to call on Monday to schedule my consult appointment ! Yeah!

1/30/06 - I saw my new medical doctor today.  He was supportive of the lapband idea.  I also talked with my insurance company today...I have to do the 6 month diet and then I should be all good. I am so excited !!!
