And so it begins...

Pre-op liquid protein begins. 1st two days were okay. Never felt like I was starving.  Today, day #3, a little harder. The smell of toast being made was agony. Had to get some groceries.  Broth for me and regular food for others.  In the past, without the goal of surgery in a week, I probably would have succumbed to temptation. Made it through. Dizzy a little today. I have to concentrate more on getting the water down. Blood sugars are a little crazy. Usually, when I really follow low carb eating, my sugars reflect the change and really have to watch my insulin doses.  Tracking my intake tells me I am not going over my sugars.

My husband is trying to be supportive by "following" the liquid protein diet. His "following" includes bananas and berries and pieces of chicken in his broth.  But he is trying which isn't his norm. He's known for bringing home french bread fresh out of the oven when I'm trying to cut carbs.

I feel pretty confident about my decision to have the sleeve. I have tried to lose weight and given up so many times it's ridiculous. Even with having Type II diabetes you would think I would try harder. I've always called not managing my diabetes "my biggest failure."

I know that my diabetes may never going completely away but it will definitely improve.
