Looking and feeling different

Feb 09, 2012

Well, so far I have to admit I really am happy with my decision to have the sleeve done.  All the swelling and pain is completely gone.  I have been losing weight, I have to say with very little effort at all.  Even my husband is wondering when I will stop losing weight.  He says he thinks I've lost enough.  However I say I still have at least 40 more pounds to get rid of.  I haven't had any major problems with food, although I have to admit I have had some vomiting when I've eaten too much or when something just doesn't agree with my new stomach.  I also have to start out slow in the morning because my stomach is sensitive in the morning.  I just think these episodes are just due to getting use to the new stomach.  I am sure these things problems will go away just as all the others have. If not, I will be sure to blog it.

Feelin So Much Better

Jan 01, 2012

Well, I am finally feeling better.  I have no more gas and I am pretty much feeling about 90% better.  I am getting use to my new diet and yes, you do morn food.  However the results on the scale make it worth it.  I have a lot more energy.  I have to admit I was feeling very fatigued.  It was difficult because I had a hard time just getting 400 cal in let alone 600 to 800.  Wow,  this is coming from someone who could eat up to 4 value meals a day at Mc Donald's along with a whole home made pie all by myself.  But its true, I could barley get 400 cal in a day.  Now I am up to 700 cal a day.  I started off at 209lbs on the day of my surgery (Dec. 10, 2011) keep in mind that I was on a 2 wk liquid diet before that.   Now I am at 190lbs and today is Jan. 1, 2011.  My first doctors visit will be Jan 3.  I have a few questions for him, but nothing major.  It just looks like I have a dent in my stomach by one of the incisions and it feels a little hard under it.  I was wondering if it was scar tissue.  Anyways.  I am feeling great and have gotten a lot of compliments.  I am so happy.

Post op

Dec 13, 2011

Okay well Dec 10th has come and gone and I have had my surgery.  I am so happy.  I have to admit I was very nervous the day of but everything went so fast before I could say wait I was knocked out and under the laser.  LOL.... Right after the surgery was over and I was in my recovery room, which is all a blur, I felt a little sore but pretty good for the most part.  Of course I slept due to the meds I was under but once they wore off a bit I was up walking.  Sounds crazy but true.  My husband was a big help.  Now the next day when I was scheduled to go home, I noticed I was having a hard time with gas it seems and keeping fluids down.  I began to cry when everyone left the room because I thought I made a big mistake by doing this surgery.  My doctor and nurse was so supportive.  They both assured me that it was just the gas they had to put inside of me.  That I would feel better tomorrow, which meant I had to stay another night. I have to admit I didn't believe a word of it, I thought they were just trying to cover up were they screwed up.  The next morning I happened to wake up early at 4am and upon opening my eyes I was expecting to feel pain/nausea and do that breathing belching thing I couldn't stop doing the other day.  Well it was all gone.  I even got up to test it out by drinking stuff to see if I would throw up and have a had time with it.  Nothing.... I went to the rest room by myself , walked around the floor outside my room several times.  Still nothing.  I felt fine.  So now today is Dec. Wed. 14, and I am in pretty good spirits and back at home as of  the 12th, Monday evening.  Due to the liquid diet pre op my weight upon surgery was 209lbs.  I weighted myself yesterday and weighted 204 so I am seeing small results which I am happy with.  My complaints are few but you will notice it when you have your procedure done.  Its the GAS!!!! It's a BEAST!!!! I feel it and at times it hurts but not like after surgery.  Also hunger pains.  Some say its gas, others say its hunger pain, I don't know, I need a cure!!! Any suggestions lol. Other then that It's Cool Beans!!!!

The Beginning

Dec 01, 2011

Well, this is the beginning of my journey.  I am currently due to have my surgery on Sat. Dec. 10Th and as of now I am on my all liquid diet.  The liquid diet is working well to my surprise, I am not hungry.  I am very excited.  Nervous, yet very excited and looking forward to my new life.  I've gotten a chance to see some on you tube, like Sasha where she shared her journey and I have decided to do the same through this blog.  I hope others find it useful in their goal to weight loss and a new life.  I will check back in the day or two after surgery to post what happened.  Until then be safe and happy.
