To say my journey was a long time coming would be an understatement. I started this 2004. I was already approved and set for surgery on 1/17/05. The day before the surgery, I took a pregnancy test (I had lost one child due to being pregnant during surgery), and it was positive. The surgery was cancelled, but I did endup having surgery 9 days later. The pregnancy was ectopic. The insurance had changed at the time, and we weren't allowed to reschedule. I then pursued trying to get pregnant again. IVF failed and my husband got a new job that covered WLS. Most of the paper work was done, so all I needed was approval and a date. The approval came in no time, and the date took a bit of work. I had RNY on November 15, 2006.
