One Month Update

I saw my doctor on 04/11/07. Things are going great. I have lost 25 lbs, which was my one month goal. I am very happy. Things seem to be getting easier. I do have a hard time with getting in my fluids. I just can't seem to get it all in. I hate sweet drinks all the time. I think decaf tea is my best bet. And I try to remember to take my vitamins and calcium everyday but I forget sometimes. My daughter has made it her new mission in life to make sure I take them everyday. :) My clothes are starting to get really baggy and everyone is saying you can notice a change.
One Week Update

I went for my one week post op with my doctor yesterday. Everything seems to be going well. I still tire easily but that is to be expected. I am now able to transition from the clear liquid diet to the full liquid diet. I am never hungry but I hate when I smell really really good food. I never realized just how food controlled me in the past. I am doing better with it the last couple of days then I was. I have lost according to the dr's scale-17 lbs. I am very very happy!!!!! I also will be able to return to work next Monday.

I made it through the surgery!!! I am so pleased with everything. It went a lot smoother then I thought it would. I feel a lot better then I thought I ever would. I don't have a lot of pain or discomfort. I get a little soar in the evenings but other then that I am great. I am just amazed. I am still on the liquid diet-one ounce every 15 minutes. I am ready for some food that actually has some texture to it. Evenings are hard for me when dinner is being prepared for my husband and kids. I find myself wanting to eat something. I stand at the refrigerator door and look in the cabinents even though I know I am not going to eat anything. I will be glad when I can progress to the next stage of foods. But I am doing well with my diet and I have lost 15lbs since I went for my pre-op appointment on 03/06/07. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and wonderful notes of encouragement. The people on this site are so wonderful and helpful!!!!
Almost Time

My surgery is Wednesday, March 14th. Only two more days to go. I am so nervous. I keep thinking to myself "What are you doing?" But I feel like this is the way I need to go. I am looking forward to meeting the "thin person" within. I can't wait to be able to feel FREE. I didn't realize that I would feel so scared. I have been very emotional the last couple of days and it seems to be getting worse as the surgery gets closer. I will be glad when it is over and I wake up in my hospital room. Everything that could go wrong is going through my head and I am really trying to focus on the positive. It's a good thing that I am working right up until the day of my surgery otherwise I would go nuts!!! This site and the people on here are so awesome. I signed on this morning and there were words of encouragement from people I haven't even talked to before and they came at the most perfect time.

Today I was approved by my insurance company for the WLS surgery. I am so excited and so nervous. I am hoping to have the surgery done in March 2007. Wow! I didn't think I would get approved the first time but I did. I guess I just was thinking negatively. I am ready for everything to start happening. My head is spinning. I'm so excited!!!!
