I am still feeling ok. I have pain in my stomach when I eat solids or swallow pills. I had an upper GI Xray and lab work this morning which was fine. I am told this will pass. I am also very sensitive to temperature. I can't eat or drink anything that is below body temperature. I used to need ice with everything I drank, now I need everything heated. It is a bit of a pain when I am at school or not near a microwave, but I'm managing.
I am down 29 lbs and haven't had any nausea or vomitting. I can sleep on my belly now.

I DID IT
Jan 15, 2011
I had bypass surgery on Tuesday January 11, 2011 in the afternoon. I came home yesterday. I had to stay a couple nights in the ICU due to some problems maintaining my oxygen level. Surgery itself was without problems. I feel great. My pain is well controlled. I am not hungry or nauseous. I haven't thrown up even once (I hope that is a trend for me.) I am still taking pain meds regularly and have very little energy but I don't feel sick at all. Wishing all of you the great experience that I have had thus far.

Time to do this!!!

I have been kicking the idea around for a couple of years now. My insurance now covers the lap band...which is the option I wanted. I need to get my butt in gear and lose 20 lbs so I can do it. It should be easy at my size but of course if it were easy...I wouldn't need surgery right?
I am setting myself a goal starting today to make this happen! I am open to support, feedback, suggestions.
