6 Years Out and Needing Help

Nov 16, 2008

In March it will actually be 7 years. So hard to believe how time flies. It seems like a lifetime ago. I really don't even remember being heavy anymore. I've had 2 children since then. The recent picture I posted I was about 20lbs heavier than I am now. I was still trying to lose baby weight.

I weigh about 145lbs now. That was what I got down to after surgery and have somehow managed to stay right around there despite not so good eating habits. I recently have started worring about that though and the long term effects of what I eat since surgery. Especially sugar. Am I harming my body since it does not process sugar well when I eat it? Even though I do not eat large amounts at a time to prevent dumping, I find myself going back for more after a while. I drink diet soda and gin & tonic, drink with meals, eat fatty food, coconut, I've swallowed some gum, I don't eat many veggies, or much protein, I don't take vitamins, no b-12 shots, etc, etc.

A friend of mine's cousin who had the surgery around the same time I did, is having terrible trouble. It got me thinking about myself. I think something is not right with me, with my blood sugar. Maybe low blood sugar. It happens often, for no reason that I've figured out, it comes from out of the blue like a ton of lead. I feel weak, faint, and am pale. I have to eat something right then and there. After about 20 minutes, I'm fine. If I had a doctor I would call and ask. I've not seen a doctor for any follow up since about 6 months after my surgery. Dr. Fabito retired and when I tried to call no one had heard of him. I don't know what to do, or who to see.
