Pre Op Liquid Diet Day Nine

I had a very busy day today.. so trying to ingest enough nutrition was going to be a challenge.
Here is a synopsis of my day.
5AM Got up, took a shower and got dressed
5:30 AM Spilled my Whey powder and milk shake after only drinking one third of it
6;15 AM got in car and drank a Low Carb Slim Fast shake and drove to the Cleveland Clinic
8:15 AM  I had the first of nine pre-op appointments at various offices around the clinic.
Noon I got enough of a break to go to the car and have my second slim fast can.
12:30 Continued with appointments (got a flu shot too)
3:30 Finished last appointment and when I got in the car I had another Slim fast, then drove home
6:15 Had my last Slim Fast Shake and went for a walk for 1 and a half miles.
8PM  Began looking at and organizing plans for pre-op shopping and things I need to do before Monday's RNY.

I'm pumped up about this surgery.  It has been my main focus for six months now.

Pre op liquid protien diet day eight

I lost 8 lbs on the 800 calorie liquid diet last week. This morning I weighed 329 lbs.
Today I will have a milk and whey powder shake. Then three Low Carb Slim fast cans at work. I have to work late tonight. So I won't be home until 8:30.  Tomorrow my pre-op surgery appointments are scheduled. My RNY is set for one week from today. I'm pretty excited.
Update:
After a 12 hour day I feel pretty good. I never thought I'd get used to this protein diet.

Pre Op Liquid protein diet day seven

It will be one week today. It's almost noon and I have yet to drink my first shake. I feel OK though. I've been stuck trying to catch up on my work on the computer and learning about my new Blackberry. I'll have lots of time in the hospital to do that.
I need to go shopping and cut the lawn today. I'll update this later.

Update: Well.. the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. 
Someone drank all the milk in the house. So instead of drinking the whey powder with water.. my first "meal" of the day was a can of Low Carb Slim Fast.

When I came home from shopping, i dropped the gallon of milk and it split open.. Oh well.. no use crying over spilled milk. So I had another Slim Fast and began to cut the grass.  By now I only had 380 Calories for the day.  I ran out of gas before I was done cutting the lawn. (Me.. not the lawnmower).  So I had a third Slim Fast and finished the job.  My wife wants me to go out on a mile and a half walk tonight with the dog.  I'll have my fourth Slim Fast then probably.

Pre-op liquid protien diet day six

I was so tired last night that I went to bed early. But I couldn't get to sleep until after two am. So I woke up at seven AM today. I cant' say I feel hungry right now. But it's Saturday and I have a lot to accomplish today, so I hope I have some energy.
The menu today will be two protein shakes with whey powder and skim milk, and two low carb Slim Fast cans. 800 calories.

I had my first can of slim fast about 12:30. I fixed a faucet this morning.. Went to the store with my wife.. then fixed the mirror on her car. I feel good right now. So far I've taken in about  a liter and a half of water.  I'm not hungry or light headed right now.

Had another slim fast this afternoon. Walked a mile and half in less than an hour.  Drank the whey and milk for dinner. Now going out to a movie.  I feel good.

Menu: The same as yesterday. Three low carb Slim-fasts and a scoop of whey powder in 8oz of skim milk. It adds up to just under 800 calories.
But today I drank more water and felt less light headed and more alert.
I walked 1.4 miles this evening and was OK. I feel good now. It's about bedtime.

Patience is a virtue

I have weight loss goals and expectations.. but I am trying to develop a healthy mental approach to attaining those goals by not being impatient.

Impatience is one reason I am a compulsive over eater.  I used to feel that if I didn't eat that food RIGHT AWAY..  it would be gone for good. I would have missed an opportunity to stuff that VALUABLE food into my mouth.

  In keeping with the path to patience, I only weigh myself once a week at the same time of day. And although I have lost ten pounds in one week. I have lost as little as only half a pound during another week.

I just stay the course. I follow my food plan... write it down to keep honest.. and keep exercising.

Keep the faith.

Pre-op diet day 4

Meals... Same as yesterday
1 scoop EAS Whey powder & 8oz fat free milk
3 cans Low Carb Slim Fast drink

I really needed my morning shake. By 10 AM I was really mentally out of it.  I was not alert at all. I was ok after the first shake though.
For the rest of the day, I felt ok.  I had my last shake just before 7pm.. then went on a 45 minute walk. I stooped over to tie my shoe. When I straightened up. I felt light-headed.

Pre-op liquid protein diet: Day 3

Drank my protein shake at 9:45 AM when my conference call was over. I feel decent today. Not light headed. Not bad considering I haven't eaten in nearly 15 hours.
Today's meals
1 scoop EAS Whey powder & 8oz fat free milk
3 cans Low Carb Slim Fast drink
I got through work okay today, I felt a tiny bit fatigued during my hour long walk this evening. I feel okay now though.
Onward and upward!

Pre-op liquid protien diet: Day 2

Woke up feeling OK. No dizziness at all.  Drank some water and I felt even a little better.
What I ate today
Drank my morning scoop of whey protein and 8 oz of milk around 9am when I began getting a headache.
I began to feel better almost instantly.
Drank my Low Carb Slimfast can at noon. I was still feeling full of energy by now.
3:15. Drank my second can of Slimfast. I still felt great.
5PM I began to feel tired and light headed. By now i had sipped more than 3 liters of water.
7PM .. Got home and drank another scoop of whey protein and 8 oz of milk.
7:15: I went for a 20 min walk with the dog. I still did not feel very alert.
8:45 PM  As i write this. I feel OK.
