calling all post op weight gainers.....

Aug 05, 2009

Hi,

My name is Joy. I have gained up to 190 up from my lowest of 165. My surgeon says a rebound is natural, not to worry. I"m told by other patients to up my protein and water and that will take it off.....(been hospitalized for a month for depression and ptsd) I'm afraid I got out of the habit of working out daily and feel like a slug and real loser.  I'm having trouble getting motivated. I've considered going to OA to help with some of the compulsive eating i've been doing.

The honeymoon weight loss window is gone, i've got loose skin and Prince Charming did NOT show up on my doorstep when I was feeling my thinnest and prettiest.....They TOLD me it wasn't magic when I got a psych eval......Now i KNOW just what they mean....

If anyone has any advice on how to feel good and get going in a positive direction out of this slump again, I would appreciate it....I know I"ve stretched my stomach and I'm hoping conventional methods will help me fit into my now very tight size 10 jeans......yikes.

I am still grateful I'm not wearing a size 24 anymore and can move easier....I guess I've gotten slack and complacent. Just can't get motivated is all. anyone have anything to say? I would appreciate it.
