I'm 48 years old and self employed. I wasn't overweight until I started living on my own at around 19 years old. I went nuts with food and binged. I then went through several years of bulimia where I over used laxatives and got down to 122 pounds. After that I was up and down but never terribly overweight. My highest was 165. At one time I lost weight on my own, but cutting down on what I ate and lifting weights. I got down to 150 then and looked great. I also tried Nutri System several times, Weight Watchers 3 times, and many other weight loss programs, e-diets, etc. Always lost weight, but gained back. I was 165 when I met my husband and 185 when we got married. My highest was 235. I finally when on Jenny Craig and lost 30 pounds, but lost interest in the program. I've been stable at 221-224 since December of 2008, but definitely need to lose more.
I've been researching WLS for several years now. I really want to go forward with it, but still have so many questions. My husband knows I've been researching, but he doesn't know how serious I am. I guess that's the first thing I need to do is talk to him and have his support. He's been so supportive with everything else. I am very blessed to have him as my hubby.
