One week post-op

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!!!

well my surgery went very well, no complications....Thank you Jesus!!!! I had my surgery on 6/30/09 and was released from the hospital on 7/2/09 and I was so glad to be back home:) I had the best nurses, they were all so very awesome!!!! On the morning after I was home, I had this overwhelming feeling of "oh crap, what the heck did I get myself into by having surgery!!!" I guess I felt like this because saw my staples on stomach. But each day so far has been getting easier and easier. The only hard thing, for me, is drinking water. It feels like I am swallowing a rock:(

I met with my surgeon yesterday for my one week post-op and it went very well:) I have lost 16lbs!!!! I can not believe it!!!!  And I have started my soft food diet for the next 3 1/2 week until my next follow up. After having "real" food I find that water is going down easier now which seems really weird. I am still trying to find a good protein drink that doesn't taste nasty or make me have diarrhea. if anyone has any suggestions....please let me know.
