-57lbs

Jan 07, 2011

Well, I've had a crappy go of things. I have done nothing but vomit almost everyday since the end of November. Christmas was awful because everything I tried to eat...I threw up.
I ended up having a scope done on January 4th and i had a stricture...which explains it all. I'm having a better week now since Tuesday, but I still experience a little vomitting.
My energy is up and I'm slimming down. I love the feeling of being thinner!!! It's the absolute best medicine in the entire world. I'm throwing out old clothes and it's awesome!!!! Even thought I've been through so much with being sick, I still have no regrets about this surgery. I had nothing else wrong with me except for being overweight, so I'm fortunate I had no other challenges while recovering from all of this.
So for those of you who are thinking about this....it's the best decsion I ever made. I wish I could have done this even 5 years ago.
Blessings everyone.
Oh my BMi has gone from 43 to 33.7!!!!! Yeah...I'm almost out of the obese category. Been a LONG TIME since that has happened.

3 weeks out

Nov 06, 2010

I'm down 35lbs!!!! I'm so happy about that. I'm finding eating certain foods aren't always agreeing with me. My energy levels are not what I thought they would be...but it's only been 3 weeks so I shouldn't be too hard on myself. I'm seeing the dietician wednesday...exactly 4 week mark and the day I start solids. I must say I'm nervous about it because some things have been getting stuck. But I'm hanging in there and I'm going to do this and in a year from now...this will all have been worth it!!!!!!!
My bruising is almost all gone now. You can see a difference in my face already and some of my jeans look like I'm wearing a diaper! lol!!!
So I will write again after the dietician. Hope everyone is doing well!!!!

Finally Home....ugh!

Oct 21, 2010

Well I got home on Tuesday Oct.19th...finally. Surgery went well, no problems. Thank goodness. However, I did end up developing a high fever, vomitting and fluid on my lungs. I felt like I had been hit by a MAC truck!  I couldn't stop vomitting, the pain killers ended up giving me wicked head aches after they wore off. My room mate had the same surgery and had brought her own food to the hospital. What a great idea! Honestly, I wish I had have thought of that. The food is the key ingredient to feeling better. So many drugs going into your system and not enough food to asborb them, is going to result in nausea.
Needless to say, I'm glad I'm home eating food I like that is made at home. What a difference.
I have a ton of bruising..even going around on my back and I'm weak still.
But I'm sure in a few more days I should be feeling somewhat better.
I guess with great change comes some sacrifices and I only hope I'm on my way soon.
My weight was heavier than it was before surgery when I got home, I guess to water retention and the iv that ran 24/7 so I wouldnt get dehydrated. It's coming off  the more I move around.
Stay strong everyone and god bless you.
I will write again next week.
