2 Week Update

Jul 29, 2009

Well, it's 8:30pm Wednesday, July 29th, 2009. I am exactly 2 weeks out from my surgery. I am still at work, started at 9:45am this morning. I am wondering if I'm ready to go back to work. It hurts to sit for long periods of time and that is exactly what I do most of the day. I have a very constant, dull pain on my lower left side, below the incisions. I called Dr. Siegel and he said that this pain is common in women that have had C-Sections, which I've had two. He said I had a lot of scar tissue so he removed it, which is what is causing the pain. If it wasn't for this pain I'd be feeling pretty good.

I am struggling a lot. I'm really, truly feeling as though I should not have done the surgery. I've only lost 15 pounds. I started at 227 and sitting stagnant at 212 for almost 5 days now. My NUT says because my BMI was only 35 that I am going to lose the weight MUCH slower than someone at 45 BMI. At the rate I'm going, I could have done this withOUT the surgery and scars.

I am having issues with the Stage 2 Foods. I throw up scrambled egg & Cream of Wheat makes my stomach cramp & gurgle for almost an hour after eatting it.

This has NOT been easy by any means....I just hope it gets better soon.

Pre-Op Liquid Diet

Jul 13, 2009

So today is Monday July 13th 2009, less than 48 hours until my surgery. I started my liquid diet this morning. Sugar-Free Carnation Instant Breakfast (150 calories) & Sugar Free Jello (7 calories) all day. Ugh....I have to work 10am-9pm Monday & Tuesday before my surgery Wednesday. Atleast I work alone so I don't have to see people eat because my stomach is growling so loud and I'm experiencing hunger pains. I know I won't be dealing with this hunger after the surgery but OMG....this is brutal!

My goal is 800-1000 calories per day for this pre-op diet. I'm sitting at 328 so far....ugh!

Not gonna lie, this pre-op diet is hard but it'll be worth it!
