David Greenbaum

"I had seen 2 surgeons before talking with Dr Greenbaum. He was the most recommended and experienced out of them. I did a phone consult then met him once before the surgery. He accepted all the paperwork from the other surgeons. The only other thing he required of me was to see a pulmonist. He wants to be sure we are as healthy as possible before he considers us as a surgical candidate. He wont just operate on you because you want him to. During the in person meeting he made sure I understood the procedure, its risks, and the after care. In the hospital he was there bright and early every morning to see me. He answered all my questions and addressed any concerns. He was always bright and cheerful. You could tell that he truely cares about his patients and loves what he does. I have had one after surgery in office appt since my surgery. He is not one to keep you waiting. He was there promptly and answered all of my questions. He again explained what to expect, what is normal and what to worry about. He is very encouraging when he sees how you have changed not just in pounds lost but in new attitude towards life, sticking to the vitamin regimine, and eating correctly. I highly recommend him as a surgeon. Even if it means traveling. "

"I had my Ds on Aug 16, 2010. I went into surgery around 7 am. Every step of the way was explained to me thoroughly. I do not even remember going into the OR. I do remember being asked several times what procedures I was having done. This made me more comfortable about not having mistakes or waking up with the wrong surgery. I awoke in ICU. The nurses there were absolutely great! They made sure I was up and walking. LOVED that bed. It was not only a bed but a chair and it also helped you into a standing position too!!! It had a wave sensation going thru it. Only complaint was moving me to a private room at 2am same day as surgery!!! Once in the private room I was mostly able to be alone. Not that I was neglected, I didn't feel like being pampered and fussed over and they only came in for necessary things. When I needed something they were in right away. Only 2 complaints...1. there was no battery in my pain pump so I had to stay plugged in in the room and could not walk the halls. Made it hard to go to the bathroom too. 2. the room needed a reclining chair. You only had the bed or a standard office chair. Dr Greenbaum was in to see me very early each morning. He has an absolutely great bed side manner. He truely cares about his patients and makes sure their questions are answered and that they are as comfortable as possible. Since I traveled for the surgery, my family was only there for the admission, surgery and discharge. They were kept informed when they were there and treated well. Discharge instructions were clearly gone over. Especially what to expect and is normal and what I should contact the surgeon right away for."
