one month later update....

Feb 19, 2022

I started to focus and recording my weight stats on Jan 19th. It is a month later and glad I was able to lose 9 lbs. I went from 219 to 210. It's not a race and I eat healthy and real food. At my stage in life and being 15 years post-op, it's not about low carbing or low calorie intake. It's about maintaining my health to avoid having any bloodwork deficencies and lose weight without being extreme. It is a lifestyle, not a competition how fast I can lose. I am right now 10 lbs away from reaching my 1st goal of 200 lbs. My aim is to get there, but in a healthy, normal manner with no pressure or having a deadline.

For breakfast I have eggs, either bacon or sausage. Sometimes, I have a grilled cheese with ham or a bowl of Special K with Lactaid milk. There are times, that I do rely having a protein shake when I don't feel like making anything. Just add milk and my protein powder to my blender and that's it. Less than 2 minutes. My focus when I have breakfast is protein intake and I want it to be at least 24 g of protein. That has been my lifestyle for over 15 years and will continue to do that regime. Protein first.

Since the pandemic has become less stringent, I am able to find and buy items in the market that I was unable to before due to the COVID restrictions, especially dense protein and my vegetables.

For lunch, I usually make a 3oz burger, seasoned with salt and pepper, add cheese (swiss or american), small amount of mayo and ketchup to my broiled bun. Other times, I have grilled salmon with some veggies, tuna sandwich on Pepperidge Farms thin sliced bread or some sort of stew or soup, such as New England clam chowder, chili, Cheese & broccoli soup, or chicken or beef stew.

For dinner it all depends what I had for breakfast and lunch and how much calorie and carb intake I have left from my daily quota max of

100-120g protein, 80g carb and 1100-1200 calories

Sometimes, it grilled breast, salmon, fish or one of the above mentions for lunch.

I am feeling less stressful now that I know my tool is still functional, as I eat a regular meal and focus on my intake. One habit I have done for years and notice that I still do is measure my meals is about the size of my hand and also I use a salad plate as my regular meal plate. I hardly ever use a dinner plate.

Now to continue on and hope I can lose another 10 lbs to reach my 1st goal of 200 lbs or close to it.
