Nancy Puzziferri

"January, 2007rnI am estatic with my surgeon. She is better than I could have hoped for in a person and a doctor. Everyone I have encountered so far at U T Southerstern Medical Center have been caring, friendly, and have gone over and above for me. At this point in my journey I don't think that she could be overrated. She shoots straight, armed with the facts and a complete overview of what you can expect from surgery and also what will be expected of you. If I were forced to chose I would chose surgical competence but with Dr. Puzziferri you do not have to make that choice.rnSo far my only negative is that I won't be getting the surgery I had planned on getting, but, I have to agree with her reasons as they are in my best interest. When I see anything negative I will post it as well. I am too outspoken not to do so. rnrnUpdate: June 5, 2007 rnDue the thoroughness of my surgeon I have learned that I will be having the the RNY that I wanted. I do not have Barretts Syndrom - Second opinions are good. I also learned that I have diabetes Type II. rnThere is one employee in the clinic who answers phone calls that needs another job, somewhere else - you asked for negatives. At this point she is my one negative.rnrnSurgery date of July 24, 2007 , cancelled because of new insurance requitements.rnrnRequirements met New Surgery date of November 27, 2007. That date cancelled because of unknown pain in stomach. More testing required. If nothing else she is through.rnrnSurgery rescheduled for March 17, 2008 at 7:00 A.M.rnrnTo anyone using Astin Ambulatory Bariatric Center: Keep copies of everything you send to them. If you don't you will be returning to your doctor's or specialists' offices and asking them to re-send your information. Somebody at clinic is very bad about losing submitted records. Where do they go? I don't know and evidently neither do they. One of my regular doctors commented that she hoped they were better at surgery than at keeping records. I finally delived her records to them by hand (faxed three times) and they still lost them. This in no way affects the way I feel about Dr. Puzziferri at this point.rnrnMy surgery complete and 2 mos. past I now hold Dr. Nancy Puzziferri in higher regard than ever before. She is a wonderful, experienced, caring surgeon with a great bedside manner. I do not think that anyone could go wrong in choosing her. I would have rather seen more of her and less of the heart and lung specialists who were less easy to understand and much more frightening."

Zale Lipshy University Hospital

"Everything and everyone was just great until I was transfered to ICU. Nurses there were very good but need to remember that patients have ears and can hear statements made about them. On the restful stay rating - room stay was restful but you probably can't expect restful while in ICU and I was there most of my stay."
