You all know the story... I was not that big as a child. A little bigger, and more developed, but not fat.  Luckily, I grew up and started playing sports at 11 years old.Softball mainly, then began volleyball, cheerleading, basketball. That helped me stay in shape, but once I went t I kept eato college and quit playing sports the weight began to come on. I wasn't  doing 30 hours of exercize a week  like in highschool. I had tried every diet known, I even tried starving myself, and got really anemic. It was not good. I was about 19 when I started to party really hard. Going out, drinking, with my friends became part of our life. It was ok I thought, because my grades were fine. Little did I know that the beer and drinking would lead to more and more weight. In 2005, I had just broken up with my bf and decided to go out with my friends for a drink, I was on the way home, and it was raining, and Bam... then a tree. It was a horrible accident, and I had broken every bone in my right leg. I had a rod in my leg, 8 screws, It was months and months of recovery, and not being able to exerrcise. It was horrible. I was 22 at the time and believe me noone that age wants to stay home and "recover"After numerous surgeries, and plenty of pounds, I was getting better, so I thought. Then a horrible thing happened. I began to get more and more pain in my ankle. The doctor told me that my bone was dying, because of the blood supply. It was called osteonecrosis. So then again last year.. another surgery to try to get my cartliage to transfer. It was just as bad as the rest. So... i finally healed, but with added weight. Anyway... in March I lost my brother, and since then I have been so depressed, and ate to help with the pain. Now 50 pounds later I know it was time to do something about it. Thats why I chose lap band!
