New Adventure Contiues...

Aug 16, 2010

Went to all my appts and had several tests today. Hubby came with me. He's such a good guy. Very supportive. I don"t know how other hospitals do this but Baptisit has it Goin' on! It was great. Went to  have abd. ultrasound first. Glad to get that done early due to being NPO since Midnight. Then went to one area for presurgical tests. Had CXR, blood work ,and EKG all in one place.  I really appreciated not having to chase from one area of  the hospital to another. Had time for a meal then off to see surgeon one more time and then Nutitrition class, which lasted 2  hours. First an RN talked about what to expect the day of the surgery and afterward, then the Dietician talked with  us. Both gave valuable information and allowed for questions during the class. I learned about the anesthesia used that is not fat soluable so it doesn't stay in your system so long, and decreases incidence of post op nausea and vomiting. Next Monday I will be ready for surgery and my New Adventure!
