I have been overweight for 14 of my 41 years, and extremely overweight for the last 5. I have basically run the circuit of diet programs, you know, "lose a little, gain alot, then do it all over again". Over time I have become very limited in what I chose to do physically and socially due to being insecure because of being obese. It effects my job, family life, and social life in one degree or another.

I know I can lose the weight. I am up for the challenge but feel that the main ingredient to getting the weight off, and keeping it off is WLS> I am planning on having the Lap Band procedure, and am so excited to get on with the rest of my life. The opportunity of having the surgery gives me the hope of having a fresh start at 41 years old. I will be able to enjoy life as God intends me to. I know it will involve alot of hard work and sacrifice on my part, but the reward of a healthier slimmer body, and a higher sense of self esteem far outweighs the sacrifices I will have to make. Anyone who would like to send me any of their input is welcome! I am touched by the wonderful people on this site supporting one another, and look forward to making friends in this community.
