It is May 8, and I am 8 days out of my surgery.  Wait, the math seems weird here?  After my April 29 surgery, I found I couldn't keep anything down, even water.  I went back in and they had to do a revision for a bowel obstruction.  while it has been a little more hellish, I'm glad it happened in such a short time and not 5 months from now!  So I am sore and tired, but still happy about my initial decision to have my surgery.

It is Wednesday evening, and I  got back from the hospital about 1:00 this afternoon.  Everything went very smoothly, and the hospital personnel was amazing (Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Ca.).  I feel pretty good, although my tummy is very sore and bruised.  It is hard to find a place to relax in my bed.  I'm sire this too shall pass in a couple of days, and I am soooooooooooooooooooooo happy that I did the surgery.  I feel brave and empowered!!!

I am so very thrilled that I am going through this process.  Over the past few months of dragging my body to work and throughout all that I do, I have come to the conclusion that nothing good comes from being obese.  I am looking forward to being able to walk without getting out of breath, with my knees aching, feeling like I am 20 years older than my 46 years.  I have spectacular support from family and co-workers, which helps so much!!
