Cathy McClennan

"What Dr MacLennan may lack in personal experience with bariatric surgery is not a hindrence to her dedication to her craft. I was impressed that she took the time to do some research on the subject of bariatric surgery before our meeting and added an additional assessment tool to the list of assessments required by my surgeon. She reviewed my assessments results with me in detail and showed a great understanding of the psychological factors of obesity surgery She was prompt with the report to my surgeon. I recommend Dr MacLennan and I believe she will be a tremendous asset to the bariatric medicine psychology community! Thank you Dr MacLennan!"

Petr Slapnicka

"I interviewed Dr Slapnicka to determine whether or not he and I would be able to work together in regards to my health care needs. Of importance among many other things was his opinion of WLS as a tool. Dr Slapnicka is a very personable, laid back fellow. I did not feel rushed through my time with him and he was quite prompt in keep on schedule. Dr Slapnicka has cared for several post op WLS patients before and was not unfamiliar with the special needs of post ops. I was impressed that he took the time prior to our appointment to print some information from the computer regarding the different types of WLS for my benefit. He was also familiar with the BMI requirements to qualify for WLS and even offeed the names of a couple of surgeons he knew of that had excellant reputations in WLS. Overall I highly reccomend Dr Slapnicka as very competent, compassionate and caring doctor and I am very comfortable with my choice of him as my PCP."

John Gilbert

"I did not consult Dr Gilbert for my WLS eval. I saw him a number of times prior to my decision to have WLS. However I found Dr Gilbert to be somewaht simplistic in his thinking regarding weght loss. I would charachterize his attitude and non empathetic to the struggles of chronically obese persons. I wonder if he ever attempted something that he was unable to complete or complete satisfactorily. Or if he ever completed something he set out to do only to have do it again because it didn't stay the way he completed it."

James Weber

"I am somewhat familiar with Dr Weber as he was my sisters surgeon 3 years ago. I recently attended his required WLS inservice and was impressed by his easy manner, his dedication to furthering public education regarding WLS, his sincere interest and concern for not only his patients but also anyone considering WLS wheteher or not they choose him as their surgeon. The seminar was interesting and informative. Dr Weber's delivery of the information was thorough, clear and deliberately straightforward. It is obvious that what motivates Dr Weber is not the almighty dollar but the health and welfare of his patients. Dr Weber's mortality and complication statistics are impressive. Overall I came away with a feeling of great comfort and confidence in his skills. He is not without a very comfortable bedside manner as well. I know from my sister and from his own seminar that he is very demanding, pre and post op. That may put some people off but frankly, I would be concerned if he were not. The inference I draw from this is that he truly cares and wants each of his patients to be successful, not because he doesn't want his statistics to become tarnished. Additionally, I know that for me to be sucessful, I need someone to be accountable to and I appreciate the fact that he is so dedicated to his patients. I know that post op I may get my butt chewed out from titm to time for not adhering to my commitments to WLS but then doesn't everyone who cuts corners and gets caught? LOL"
