Six months!

Wow I can't believe it's been six months! It seemed to fly by when I wasn't looking. I am down 88lbs and feeling good. The only problem I'm having is the hair loss. I hope it stops soon! LOL

So it's been a month since I had surgery and I have lost 25lbs! Yipee! I can't tell though but I'm sure in time that will come! I'm slowly learning about some of the different foods I can eat and I can't wait to eat salad and veggies again!

Weight Gain before surgery?!?!

So yesterday I went to my pre-op appointment with doctor Billy. It seems so real now! Everything went good except I gained 2.5 lbs! WHAT?!?! I guess it's the "last meal" syndrome I have been having but I need to get over it. He said no problem but I needed to watch my fat intake over the next week and the two days before surgery are a liquid diet. I've got some protein drinks and shake mixes as well as some SF jello for when I come home. Oh and also a couple different kinds of broth. I love Trader Joes! LOL
I'm sure I need some other things but I still have a week and I know when I get home if Ineed something I can send hubby out. I didn't want to buy a bunch of the same protein drinks in case I don't like it so I can send him out with the can to get the right one! LOL
I started journaling my food on fitday.com today and already I realized I eat ALOT of carbs! I had a wheat bagel with a little light cream cheese and a lowfat yogurt today and I'm WAY over for carbs! Who knew yogurt was so high? Not me!! I do usually buy the low carb yogurt because it's also low sugar for my older daughter so I will have to stock up for me too!

The title says it all!!!
I got the call yesterday from Heather (isurance lady) and she said she got my approval from Triwest!!! I am so excited since i was worried it would be a problem to get the approval since Dr. Billy is out of my network but they didn't give it a second thought.
Today I go for my pre-op appointment and I am looking forward to that. I had my blood drawn yesterday so this is the last thing before surgery next week.
I am so excited and scared all at the same time. My only fear is dying because of my two little girls but that is also the reason I am doing this. I totally trust my doctor and I am sure I will be on here next week updating how my recovery is going.
I can't even imagine what it will be like? I sit and read other peoples posts and blogs and it doesn't seem like those things will apply to me?!?! Will I be the first person to have this surgery and not lose weight? No! I know it's going to change my life and I can't wait.
Just think this time next year I will be able to ride rides with my kids! Right now I would never attempt to get on a roller coaster. I haven't in YEARS and I used to LOVE them. I use the excuse of my shoulder hurting from a car accident almost 10 years ago. Wow how sad that it's been so long I didn't even realize it until just now.
Ok so next year on Jan 1st I am going to spend it at Disneyland with my family and go on ALL the rides my girls want too! This will be the last year I start weighing over 300 lbs and next year I will celebrate by rewarding myself and my family!
Ok the above mentioned girls are getting tired of me sitting on the computer, I mean it has been like 10 min! LOL

Ok so here is my first blog! I wasn't sure I wanted to write this but I know what a benefit it has been to me to read other blogs with peoples journey and if this helps someone it will have been worth it!
Today is the day after Christmas, hopefully my last Christmas being so overweight.
I'm still waiting for the approval from my insurance company (Tricare) which should come this week. Hopefully it does since my surgery is scheduled for Jan 3, 2007! I would hate to reschedule because we have so much going on in the next few months it would be hard to be recovering during that time. Don't get me wrong you do what you've got to do I am just praying it works out!
