Today I am down 66 lbs since my surgery on Jan. 5 2005. I am still having trouble incorporating new foods, but rely heavily on protein shakes to make my 60g protein quota. I am not hungry at all and need to watch the clock to make sure I don't skip meals. Unbelievable! Exercise is still not a constant for me, but I am working on it. I am able to get around much easier than before. My energy is still low from having the surgery, but it was never that high before, so no real complaints. I am looking forward to the point where I do have more energy and feel able to do more. I am very grateful for having had the surgery and would highly recommend MUSC and Dr. Byrnes in particular. I will update this periodically.

Today i am down 92lbs since my surgery on Jan. 5 2005. Starting to fall out of some of my clothes which is a good feeling!

I have pasted the 100lb weight loss mark! what a wonderful feeling. took a shopping spree and was actually finding clothes that were too big for me. went from a 5x to 3x in most things. also, bought my first pair of jeans in many years. can't wait to have a shopping spree where i buy clothes that don't have "x" in the size and can shop in a regular store. I gave a lot of my clothes to the clothing exchange here and that was a great experience. i was also able to get a few things from the exchange which was nice. so, i am continuing to stick with the program and hoping for another 100lbs in the next 6 months. i'll keep you posted!

july 23, 2005 still doing well. can't get used to wearing smaller sizes. i just don't even know what sizes to buy anymore. i have a goal of being below 300lbs by my birthday in october. that's about 40lbs still for me, so wish me luck. really need to do some exercising now. i have made all the dietary changes, but incorporating exercise has been difficult. also, found out my iron level is half what it should be! i haven't been taking the supplements very consistantly.

finally below 300lbs! didn't make it by my birthday in October, but now am down to 286. my anniversary is coming up jan 5 2006 and it will be one year.

Currently at 270 lbs. Still have to lose another 100lbs or so, at least want to get down below 200lbs. Haven't been there since I was 19 years old!

Currently down 202 lbs! That's a whole person, a really big person at that! My weight loss has really slowed significantly, but I am not gaining, so that's good. Saw someone at the support meeting that regained all of her weight plus more. That's a scary thought. I really need to focus on losing some more and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I do not want to be one of the unfortunate ones who regains the weight. I've been thru too much for that to happen now.

Bad news! Definitely ran it off into a ditch! Slowly gained back up to 330lbs (after having total hysterectomy in 2007), stayed here for awhile.

Experienced major depression episode and gained 100 more pounds! Topped out at 433 lbs :(.  Attribute this to heavy drinking of beer. Put on 100lbs in about 6 months!

Now at about 377. Been watching diet, especially protein, and working out with a trainer 2-3x a week. 

Now my goal is to walk the Cooper River Bridge Run on April 6, 2013. It's a 10K! I walked it in 2006, but only did about half of it. Walked with some MUSC gastric bypass patients and we got on the track at the base of the bridge instead of the start point.
