I went in for my surgeon appointment on Monday.  I read the posts, etc. about the man and they were mixed, but all agreed he was the best of the best in this area.  I personally liked him.  He was to the point and answered all my questions.  You could tell he has heard them all before and he was patient with me.  What I liked was that he exuded a confidence that made me feel confident that he could fix my lap band/hiatal hernia/GERD issues, etc. etc. etc.  How happy that made me - and his nurse / PA was great too.  She took the fluid out of my lap band and immediately, I felt the medicine I took earlier that morning, go right on down.   Arrrrggghh.  I just need to see if the insurance will take care of the surgery, which would surprise me if hey didn't, because with all of the side effects I am having with the lap band, it will be either revision surgery, or visits to the ER since the issues just seem to be getting worse. 

I knew my family genetics were very adaptable, but imagine my surprise when I found out via an upper GI that my esophagus dilated to be my new stomach.  No wonder I didn't feel any restriction, could eat whatever, and felt hungry - just not "all the time" like when I was unfilled or when I had no band.

About me - I have been on every existing diet known to modern man (and a few old ones like HCG) and yeah, it works, for a time, but I always "bottom out" at a certain weight and then begin gaining.  I finally thought I found the answer in the Lap Band, well, as you see above, my body adjusted to that too.  Oddly enough, if it wasn't for the upper GI, I would never have known how or that my body compensated for the stomach, absolutely no pain whatsoever.

I did have a great surgeon for the Lap Band, it appears it is working the way it was intended, placed well, etc., it just didn't work for me.

I am having lapband problems, GERD, hiatal hernia, asthma, vomiting and choking in my sleep and the latest, something like a liquid filling my lungs while sleeping and choking on that too.  Searching for a revision solution asap.
