Well I have been researching wls for months. My best friend had it years ago and I have wanted it ever since. She lost about 100 lbs. and has kept it off for at least 6 years. I put on over 100 lbs. since I got married in 1989. Two children one at age 25 and one at age 36. They were both c-sections. I didn't lose the baby weight either time. I have yoyo dieted all my life. Just to lose and gain back more.I have high blood pressure and am a borderline diabetic. Heart trouble runs in my family. I don't want to die. I want to live to see my grandkids and thats not going to be anytime soon. I have a husband that doesn't care if I'm over weight. Thats a blessing and a curse. He doesn't want me to go to Mexico for surgery. But he understands now that my health counts on it. I want to be able to enjoy my family and friends and have the energy to do this. My children need me. I had insurance a few years ago, an hmo it would not pay for the surgery. I am getting insurance in march, it doesn't pay for surgery, which broke my heart. So Mexico here I come. I will self pay. I am nervous about going, but more nervous about after care and fills done over here. I have a surgeon Dr. Alvarez, in Mexico. My date is March 7, 2008. I will be driving down with a friend, we will stay over night in Eagle Pass the night before. I start my 2 week pre op diet on Feb. 22,2008. I can't wait to start losing. I will update later. Jill
