Ok Day 2 is going a lot better. I made an orange protein shake that tastes like OJ & it is sooo yummy.  Last night was pretty hard and I ended up having a turkey sandwich. Not having “solid” food was hard. I know that this is like 99% mental and I know I have long road ahead.  I can do this.

 

I am so excited.  

So today is Day 1 of my liquid diet & let me tell you, I really want some freakin solid food right now. I am hungry but I need to keep busy to fight it because I don’t know if I am actually hungry or if it is head hunger.  It is worth it.  I am having surgery in 6 days. This is what I have wanted for so long. I can do this. 

Is that popcorn I smell?

Today I had my education class - it was fun!  I love learning new things about my pouch. I am getting really pumped for surgery. I thought the 3 weeks from approval to surgery were going to draaaaaagggggggg on but they have FLOWN by. Who'd thunk? 

Surgery is in only 10 days! AH!!

I CAN NOT WAIT!!! 

So I found out today that surgery will be at 10a. I am having surgery at Paradise Valley Hospital. I am so freakin excited; I seriously feel like I am in a dream.

I AM HAVING SURGERY!!!!!!!!!! 

I found out today that I am approved for surgery and my surgery date is 11/5!!

AH!

Am I dreaming?!?

I have had quite the last couple months in regards to this crazy roller coaster we are all on :)  I got denied in Feb. & I also found out I needed 5 weeks of behavior mod to treat my eating habits. I have completed the behav mod & I am still working on my appeal. I have to continue collecting my 5 yrs of medical records since my PCP has lost my records prior to 2004. Hope all is well with everyone else! :)

I have a date for my psych appt!  Wahoo!  I see Dr. Maxwell on February 3rd for the test & then I go back to see her on the 8th for the results. I am so excited! The only thing I have left is to get APPROVED!  Once I have that, I will have surgery & I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

Today was my appointment. Everything went  really well. I had to wait  about an extra hour longer than my appt. time but it was well worth it. Dr. Juarez seemed really nice- I like him a lot. I feel like I have done research after research so I didn't have a ton of questions for him. His PA came in first & I talked with him for awhile. We talked about leaks & stricitures. He also told me that it is about 2-3 months from the first consult (today) until surgery which is what I was thinking. I wish it was right now though!  I am going to go to bed- I am beat :)

Tomorrow is my appointment with Dr. Juarez. I am SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!  I can't wait to get this show on the road!  I will let you know how it goes :) wahoo wahoo wahoo

Dr. Maxwell's office called me to reschedule my psych appt.  It is rescheduled for Jan. 20th which is nice because it is a Saturday so I won't have to miss any work for that. It is going to cost $280 to see her. She doesn't take my insurance so I have to pay out iof poclet. It's a lot of money but I will do whatever I need to to have this done. I can not wait for surgery!
