Home again

Mar 28, 2011

I'm starting my third day home and I am getting stronger and better every day.  Thanking God for the wonderful nurses who knew alot about my surgery and gave me lots of mouth swabs to stay moist until I could drink after my leak test, ice packs for my sore tummy and taught me ways to get out of bed.

It's so great to take a shower and I already take one less medication than I did last week.  No more diuretics and no more "cankles"!  Yeay!

My kids are figuring out what I actually do around here now that I am not able to do it.  They are appreciative and it's great to have time to read, watch a movie or two and goof off while I heal.  Walking again but I don't think anyone would call it a workout yet, but that's coming along each day as my stomach muscles heal.

It's pretty amazing how I am not hungry or wishing I could eat, thank you God and Dr. Wong again.
Still not seeing any big weight change but my doctors told me not to expect that for a week to 10 days due to all the IV's and changes my body is going through.  So this should be interesting, haven't had even 500 calories a day for the past 6 days so it'll be good to see that pay off on the scale.
