Food Funeral

Sep 12, 2010

So today was my final farewell to all things carb and fried and greesy.  My surgery is two months from tomorrow and I'm starting to kick it into high gear.  I have what they call Fatty Liver Disease ... which means I'm fat and there is too much fat around my liver.  I know the doctors want you to diet prior to surgery to shrink your liver, so I'm doing a little extra to ensure that I have a decent liver for the procedure.  So I woke up and had a big glass of Coke and fast food gravy biscuit and a country fried steak biscuit and for lunch/dinner had a philly steak sub ... and finished off the 2 liter of Coke.  After all of that crap, I'm glad that sucker is dead.  =)

So now I move on to Protein shakes and grilled chicken and some veggies.  Grilled chicken and lean pork are good for a little while and then I'm usually done with them.  I'm just not a huge meat person.  Not so much fish either.  I really think the proten shakes are going to be my best friend.  I just don't know where else to get protein from.  I guess I need to study up on that.  Good thing I have two months until my surgery, although I really hate waiting.  I would have gone sooner, but I need a passport since I'm going down to Mexico and the flights were a little pricy.  But it's still before Thanksgiving and Christmas which is great because I won't be able to eat, and I'm really tired of eatting.

So here's to you Food.  It's been one hell of a ride, but the time has come to bid adieu.  Farewell, my friend, Farewell.
