Saturday, December 07, 2002 I’m back home. Wish someone had told me this hurts. Owwww. No problems other than some congestion in my lungs on the night of the 2nd day and I was coughing all the time. They suggested I increase my walking to every hour and work with my breathing exerciser. It felt like crap to get out of bed and do it, but I sure didn’t want pneumonia. I got up and walked and walked. I also had to have chest x-rays taken and they sent these out to another local hospital for a reading. Later in the afternoon I felt better and wasn’t coughing as much. This morning I had no wheezing and was still doing all the walking even during the night. BTC hospital doesn’t believe there is a night time; there are still things you have to do. Everyone usually got weighted around midnight. I gained 17 pounds there. (I had lost 2 pounds during the week of PAT’s until surgery time which included Thanksgiving and I ate a ton of those homemade dinner rolls!!) I still can’t say this is a good thing but I sure do feel much better than I did after the 2nd day.
