well it's been a year since a joined this site and have always kept it tucked away back in my mind about getting weight loss surgery....well i met a mother who inspired me when i picked up my kids at their daycamp...it was their last day of camp too so i wish i could've spoken to her longer...but we got on the topic of weight loss, cuz we all know us moms can gab,  and she told me she used to weigh 400lbs!! i was amazed...i don't even know if that was the word to use...she even had a picture of herself in her wallet, it was incredible! she told me she had the duodenal switch..and ohip covered it, i immeadiately got home and remembered i had joined this site....i started looking stuff up, unfortunately the DS surgery is under review from ohip right now...so it's not covered so i've decided maybe the RNY is the best for me.
i contacted Barix Clinic through email for one of their info packages yesterday and they called me within 2 hours to see if i wanted to do my consult, unfortunately our vehicle isn't in the best shape so i'm not really able to travel, so i looked up car rentals...ugh...more money...it's always being spent! so i've decided to wait until i've been approved (keeping fingers crossed!) before i go to my consult....i'm nervous about telling my dr that i want this surgery, he's turned me down when i've asked for other help before to lose weight....i'm trying to gather as much info as i can before i go so i can hand it to him and he really won't be able to say no....we'll see how it goes...i'll blog again to keep track of my journey!!!!!!
