3 months and 69 pounds later

Wow the time has gone quickly. My husband took my 3 month post pictures yesterday and couldn't believe the difference. I swear he didn't "see" me before. I have to show him how big my old clothes are before he ever gets a clue as to how much weight I've lost. I am feeling good, but I think my blood pressure is low. Last week it was 105/78 and I do get dizzy sometimes. I am going to have it checked by a dr.
Food has become a little boring, I never thought I'd be making myself eat! I have to constantly try to think of things to cook that sound good and still provide the protein. My fallback food is cottage cheese.

Home from the hospital

Surgery went fairly well, I had a very old hernia around my esophagus that he discovered and fixed (20 years on meds, for gastric reflux, acid reflux, heartburn, who knew). Also a partial collapsed lung. I had to spend a total of three nights instead of one, being a self-pay, that hurt a bit, but not as much as the surgery sites. I don't know how people have gone through this with the opening, it must be brutal. One incision site is stinging and burning tonight when I move or cough. I had alot of anxiety today waiting to get the ok to go home and alot on thursday around not receiving pain meds when needed. Took the nurse 1 1/2 hours past the time they were due ...grrr.

Sugery today

Well, here it is, the day has finally arrived, I actually got to sleep last night without a pill. I have done well on the clear liquid diet but I am glad it is over and I never thought I would be looking forward to a meal of cream of wheat!
I can't believe that I am not nervous I must have worked through it yesterday, cranky and cried very easily. My friends have been very supportive and I feel like their is universal love and support in my space.

I was told about this website yesterday from a friend who is 7 years post RNY. She said that it will help me with support and information. I have gone from cautiously optimistic to excited since speaking with her about her success. I am soon to be 61 and will have the surgery 5 days before my birthday. I will start the liquids on June 10 and the surgery is June 17.
