I've been over weight for most of my life. When I was 15 or so I heard about bariatric surgery and my doctors in the past 6 yrs or so have suggested it. In July of 2006, I was in a pretty serious car accident and was ejected from the car. Less then a month later I was diagnosed w/ a pre-excisting condition called Syringomyelia that my Nuerosurgeon said I had this since birth and may have gone the rest of my life w/ out any symptoms from the condition. But the car accident aggrivated it. So I'm in the process of getting SSDI and Medicaid so I can have my Bariatric Surgery then have my surgery on my Syringomyelia. Syringomyelia is a fluid filled cyst that forms in the spinal cord. The cyst is filled with ceriberal fluid that surrounds the brain. You can find out more about this at www.asap.org .
