Pre-Op Liquid Diet and Surgery in two days!

Jun 25, 2012

Today is the first day of my two day pre-op diet.  I was lucky not to have the required to weeks.  Since I have lost 30 lbs since the first of the year and have been on 1100 calories for awhile that I should be good to go!  :-) Today is Monday and surgery is Wednesday.  FINALLY!

I went shopping this weekend to purchase a variety of liquids to get me through the liquid phase before and after surgery.  I bought anything from Isopure, muscle milk to cream soups.  This should be interesting.

I am very excited and not really nervous at all.  I am beyond ready for this and can't wait to start this journey!  I do believe the journey began on January 1, 2012 when I started my better eating and lower calorie life!  I have only indulged once or twice with candy and fried foods.  This is a big deal for me!  I have eased up the past several weeks with many "last meals".  As of today that is OVER!

My co-workers are the best and I know that I can count on them when I return with my new tummy.  I am excited to get active and can't wait to start losing significant weight so I am not so embarrassed at the gym.  I do like the gym but am embarrassed to go on a regular basis.  That will soon change.  I will be able to keep up and join classes and not be intimidated!

Home is going to be a bit of a challenge.  Husband thinks we should accept eachother as we are and that he thinks I am sexy.  But sexy to him does not take away my back pain that I have every day and don't mention it anymore because I know he gets tired of me saying so.  I struggle daily with just doing the laundry and picking things off the floor.  I want to feel better.  There will be some MAJOR adjusting of the meals and food for him and the girls.  I am not going to answer the question "whats for dinner" for the next few weeks until I start introducing soft foods.  I wish my husband would join me on the weight loss portion of this journey with me.  I am just going to hope for support.  I appreciate him loving me for who I am no matter what size.  I choose my size to be smaller!  I would like to see him at a healthier weight but I do love him for who he is.   He of course thinks that when I am skinny I will leave him for a younger thinner man.  I told him that he is the last man that I am willing to put up with!

Well, no jitters yet, just excitement for a fresh start!  Can't wait to see me in next year at this time!
