Tummy Tuck on February 25th, 2010
Mar 21, 2010
Just one more wonderful change to my body! I had abdominoplasty done on February 25. I was one happy woman when I saw my new flat tummy just hours after surgery! It's been almost a month now and I'm still so excited about the results. I'm getting around fine now with some discomfort at times but each day is a better day. To me, this surgery was no piece of cake. During the first and second week I really wondered whether or not I'd ever be able to stand up straight again but it happened! Yeah! The absolute best part is that now when I wear a fitted dress I don't have to wear Spanx to smooth out the roll of loose skin and when I sit down, I don't feel like I have to set my purse at my side or keep my sweater around me to hide my rolls.
I thank God for all the blessings he has given me.
I am grateful for my family who has loved me, cared for me and supported me throughout this journey.
I am grateful for the weight loss surgery, it has changed my life!
I am grateful for the plastic surgery, it has added the finishing touch.

I noticed that I was loosing a significant amount of hair at around 3.5 months and thats been pretty scary at times but now in the last few days it seems to be looking more like normal hair loss once again. Yeah!
I continue to take my vitamins and protein drinks. I find that I can eat about 3 to 4 ounces of food. I'm excercing when I can. I walk on the tread mill and I swim laps at the pool.
Did I tell you that I'm LOVING THIS! I feel Great! I'm so very happy that I had the RNY. It has changed my life for the better and I'm going to do everything in my power to never go back to being morbidly obese, unhealthy and miserable again!
I've had so many wow moments that it's hard to name them all.
Health wise everything is great!
Size wise, oh my! I wear a size 10 comfortably but the other night I squeezed my tush into an 8! That was a wow for me!
The compliments are always wow moments.
The very best Wow is just the way I feel and thats Awesome!

It's been 3 months now and I've lost 50 pounds. I feel wonderful! Honestly, I would be happy staying at the weight I am right now because I feel that good. I can't imagine how great I'll feel with 50 more pounds lost, but I'm sooooooooooo going to find out!
I love the changes that are taking place. I'm taking up less space. I love the freedom of movement and driving a car without the steering wheel pressed up against my belly. I love laying on my back to sleep at night and not feeling like I'm going to suffocate, no more sleep apnea! I actually sleep through the night without waking up at least three or four times. It's amazing what a peaceful sleep does for me. My body used to hurt and I took tylenol just about every day before surgery. I don't take any now, there are no more aches and pains. I love hearing my son tell me how skinny I'm getting! Just recently he pulled me to the mirror so I could see for myself! hehe, I love that boy! The support my family and friends give me is awesome. I am lucky to have them!
I love going through this journey with my best friend who has also had this surgery. We're getting healthy and skinny together! Yeah! Now we can both tie our shoes without the bows on the side! Oh and I even have a lap now! Yeahhhhhh!
Surgery October 17th, 2007

Here it is, surgery day. I couldn't believe it was already here and that I was actually having it. The only thing I remember after the surgery was being told to walk from the gurny to the hospital bed in my room.
I was so fortunate to have such wonderful family waiting for me and taking such good care of me. I can never thank my daughter, husband and my best friend Leslie enough for being there. Katie, my daughter stayed with me the first night which was the roughest night. She was there every time I needed her and boy did I need her! The pain meds made me nauseaus and made me hallucinate and at times my skin felt like it was crawling. I was up and walking the halls about every hour, which seemed to help relieve the gass pressure and the itchy crawly feelings that I was having. I used a pillow to relieve the pressure when I coughed or heaved, it helped with the pain immensely. I also made sure my pillow was pressed up against my tummy for the ride home. Katie was a blessing to me she was by my side the whole way. My husband did the same the next night, and I know I wouldn't have done as well without them. Doctor Moore was very good to me along with all the Nurses, Lpn's and Cna's that came and took care of whatever need I had.
The first day of surgery I had nothing to eat or drink. The second day they gave me ice chips and later on I could pick from crystal light, chicken broth or jello to sip. The third day I was able to have fluids and eat eggs for breakfast before leaving the hospital. I enjoyed the broth the most because the warmth felt good on my stomach.
I have had my first nights rest in my own bed and I was so happy to be back home. Now I'm trying to stay up, stay moving , drink my fluids and get my protien in. The only discomfort that I feel is the bloating, gassy feeling in my stomach. I'll be so happy when that finally goes away.
