Well... Here I am....
I have been dealing with food and weight issues since I can remember. Remember having to shop in the chubby department?
I am 46 years old. I live in Massachusetts with my husband and son. My son is 23 and lives at home with us. My husband is retired. He was career military, and served twice in Iraq.
We have been married for almost 25 years! I love that man with all my heart. My son, is a good guy. I wish at times he was still 6, I really liked six. We have had challenges as a family. But we stick with it....through good and bad. I am fortunate to have them in my life.
We have lived in Massachusetts, Germany, and Missouri. Germany was incredible! I would love to go back. Happy times!
I was born and raised in an Army family, yes, I am an Army brat. My father was an alcoholic, who committed suicide in 1984. My mother died from multiple health issues in 1998. I have a brother and sister. My sister, doesnt speak with me, which I am ok with. I cant afford to make her issues mine..... My brother is nice, but has substance abuse issues. So....you can see, I grew up in dysfunction junction.
I work full time, in the city of Boston for the Federal Government. I really like my job, hate the commute.
I decided on bariatric surgery this year. I considered it for a long time before that. I started the nutrition modification on 6 June, at an all time high weight of 386.3. I have gained and lost, like all of us, many times. My greatest success was 120 pounds a few years ago, but have gained it all back, and then 20 pounds.
I was not taking care of myself, drinking too much diet soda, and eating McDonalds every day! It was time to change.
SO, here I am.....
