I have struggled with the ups and down's of weight loss and gain since I was 10 years old. I went from 125 to 180 after my first pregnancy. I lost 30lbs after  about 1 mth. It took three years of yo -yo dieting to lose the last 30. I got married and two children and ten years later I'm at 245lbs.  So, I have been thinner than I am now. This is extremley difficult for me. I look in the mirror everyday and I hate who I see. I am dissapointed that it's come to this. I must have my insides torn apart and recontructed just to be thin again. I am however excited and I can hardly wait to become the new me.

I am in a seven month learning program before surgery at Geisinger Hospital in Danville,Pa. This month(January) I go for some medical evaluations and Pyschological evaluations. Then in March I will get to meet my surgeon and wait to hear from the insurance company if I'm good to go. This part is really scary! I keep wondering what if... What if they say I'm not fat enough.  Only time will tell and I still have 11lbs to lose before surgery so wish me well.

Had my surgery July 26 2007 . Three very painful days later I went home. After about two weeks I felt good. About 2 mths later I had awful bouts of pain and vomiting, so much so , I went to the ER total of three times.  I had another surgery to open hole that was too small going from my stomach to my intestines. The only plus was that I lost a bunch of weight because I couldn't eat. Now I am 6 mths out of my surgery and hitting weight stalls here and there, but life is good and I wouldn't change it for anything!  29 lbs more to lose and I'll be on top of the world!

If there is any drawback it would be lack of energy and extra skin! I wish insurance companies could realize the emotional  pain people must deal with. You lose so much weight and want to feel and look good. The reality is you can spend everyday at the gym and no amount of exercise or muscle building will take away the extra you, left behind.

I am now still looking for a fat bathing suit because I have to hide the extra skin on my legs and my belly! I work out 3-4 days a weeks for 3 hours a day. I have muscles in my legs and arms but i'd do anything for someone to take away the extra skin so I could feel less like a freak!
