Hello to all who read this. Im 23 years old, 5'3'' and I weigh 239lbs. I hope by having this surgery I can have a better image about myself. I don't really care what other people may feel about how I look, but nobody is going to like me if I don't like myself first.

Hey everybody, just wanted to update. I have been cleared for surgery by the nutritionist and by my pysch eval. All I need to do now is see the pulmonary dr and then I can get my surgery date. Im so excited. The staff and doctors at Baystate Surgical Associates have been phenominal. Well I'll update later when I find out more. TTFN (Ta Ta For Now)

Well, its been a while since ive updated. I've done everything the nutritionist suggested I do before surgery to get used to the new lifestyle of eating. I've cut away all carbonated drinks and I am now addicted to Crystal Light and Diet Peach Ice Tea from Snapple. Also trying to put more protein in my diet. So far I'm down to 233. Im excercising daily but the weight does not seem to be budging. I hope that once I have my new tool that the weight will come off because this is my last and only option.
If anyone has any post-op recipes that you find helpful and tasty please e-mail them to me. I could use all the help I can get. Well TTFN!

Well I thought everything was going smoothly but boy was I wrong. I have had all my appointments and I go in for a meeting with the surgeon and he and his other associates wont do the lap RNY on me because of my religious beliefs!!! I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses and as such I choose not to have blood transfusions, but I will except alternative treatments as long as they don't involve putting blood that isnt mine into my body. I will say that they did listen to me and said that because they respect my choice will not do the surgery just in case there is a problem in the operating room they dont want to be put in the situation of trying to find a way of stopping the bleeding. So after an hour drive back to work crying all the way I decided I will not have the lap band that they suggested I get. I called them and asked them to refer me to another surgeon. I have a seminar to go to on Thursday with either Dr Haag or Dr Fiallo. Hopefully since all my other appointments were already done I wont have to wait very long to get an appointment and a surgery day. I'll keep you all posted.

Just thought I would update and tell everyone that reads this that I am now going to have the lap band surgery. Explain more later.
