I Finished My First Half-Marathon

It was the RiverRun 1/2 marathon in Victorville,CA.. If you don't know were that is... Consider yourself lucky!!LOL!!

The first 3 miles of the run/walking was on dried up river bed and it was like running at the beach!!! Very tough!! The next 7 miles was through residential streets up and back down the same streeets. The last 3 miles was back through sand and the desert heat!! It was a very tough run! I finished 3:39!! I was phyically spent after the run!! I was suffering from dehydration. My legs started cramping and I got dizzy when I stood up. I could not walk to the car at the race!! I was very fortunate to have run the race with Kirsten who ran great and even though she was in bad shape herself nurse me to health!! THANK YOU!! Kirsten!!!

My goal was to get under 3:30!! But considering how tough it was I know I will do better for the Disney 1/2 Marathon!!

I could have never done this a year ago!! It been an amazing journey!!!

Then I can stop all this $@* running!!!:-)

It's that time of the month again!! I'm still in training for the Disney Marathon!! Its going well! I'm working out about 4-5 times a week. The training is keeping me focused! Short runs during the week (3-4 miles) and longer runs every other weekend. I up to 8 miles now. I wish I could say it easy but its not. It is a lot of hard work!! The hardest thing I ever done. On days I not running I've been taking spinning and body pump classes. I'm down 6lbs this month. Not my best month for weight loss but I know it from adding muscle. That puts me at 245lbs!! I'm 25lbs away from my goal!:-) Until next time!!!

Seems like the weeks are flying by. I weight in this morning at the gym to my surprise I was down 6lbs from last week!! That puts me at 251lbs down 11lbs this month. I’m 31lbs from my goal weight of 220. I still working hard at the gym, I ran my first 10K last month and I’ve started training for the Disneyland half marathon!! I don’t enjoy running but it been a great way for me to have a goal of accomplishing something and not just going to the gym look for results on the scale. I found that I able to eat a little more also that the bad food I use to eat go down a lot easier so I have to keep an eye on that. Another great month for me!! I’m on track to get to my goal weight by my one year!! See you next month!!


8 Month Surgiversary!!!

Today is my 8 month surgiversary!! Wow 8 months already! It has been wild 8 months. I'm down to 263!! It only 6lbs for last month but I'm adding muscle so I can't worry about the scale moving slowly. I'm in the gym 3-5 day a week. My best mile is 11:15!! I started taking a Spinning classes and I'm hitting the weights! I ran my first 5k my time was 43:45!! My goal was to finish under 45!!! I'm so happy about that! I have to keep pushing myself to do more!! I'm on the Protein Train!! Getting in over 100g of protein and 75-oz water a day!! Its a daily struggle but so worth it!! I feel great!! I have more energy!! There are many days I just want to sleep in or not go to the exercise after work. But see people falling back to there old ways of eating, not exercising and are gaining the weight back. This surgery is not a quick fix or the easy way out!! It a tool that you have to work forever!! I can't let that be me!! FAIURE IS NOT AN OPTION!! I'm 42lbs away from my goal weight!! It seem so close but I know it going to get tougher! Staying Positive!!

It been a while since I posted and so much as happened in the past month. My weight loss as been going great. Some weeks I don't lose and some I lose 5-6lbs!! I'm still working hard at the gym. I started adding more cardio to my routine. My fastest mile was 13:08!! I've been getting in over 100g of protein a day!! It is still hard for me to believe 7 months ago I was 381lbs and today I at 269!! I'm down 112lbs!! My personal life has not been as successful!! Not keeping my word has creating drama and lies then I would have never expected and I am truly sorry for that!! But it's through the tough times that you see the true nature of people. Now that I see it I'm removing them from my life and staying positive!! Stay Classy San Diego!!

Weight Loss Is Slowing Down!!!

Well I did'nt think it was going to take this long to get 100lbs loss!! I'm still working out 4 or more times a week!! But I had a 2 week stall I was just 3lbs away!! It took me keeping track of my protein and water intake!! Making sure I got over 100g and 80oz!!! A week later I dropped 8 pound that put me way past 100lbs loss!!! That put me at 276!! Next goal to get under 250!! Thank you Dana for pushing me to do more!! You have to work your tool!!

When I look back on this year I think about last year this time I was waiting to change insurance hoping to get approved. It took 8 months but it was worth the wait!! I think about all the OH events I attended this past year... Last Suppers, Lunches, Dinners, Long Beach Coffee, Tom's Farms, Crag's Park, Halloween Party, Dances, Baby showers, Magic Mountain, 5 and 10K walks. All the friendships I have made this year. I own a great deal of my success to my friends here on OH. Thank You!! Thank You!! Thank You!! I'm looking forward to a even better year!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

What a Great 4 months it been!!!

I'm totally surprised great everything is going. I'm down to a 2x from a 5x shirt which is so amazing-!! For the first time in 20 years I was able to shop in a mall at a regular store and cloths fit!! Another one my goals met!!! At my doctors appointment today my PCP gave me 2 big hugs!! I thought she was going to cry!!! She said I made her day with how well I'm doing!!! My next goal is to get under 300lbs I'm only 6 pounds away but the last few weeks my weight loss has slowed. I know I could be doing more!!! Hitting the gym harder!!! Getting in more protein and water also drinking less alcohol!!! But I'm please with my progress. It still hard for me to see the major changes that has happened but everyone else does so I just keep working my tool!!

I been I while since I updated. The past month and a half have been very good!!! I've lost a total of 61 pounds. I have walked a 5k and 10k!! Most foods seems to go down good as long as I don't over eat or eat too fast. I have more energy than I ever had. I started kick up my workout to take advantage of this new found energy. I am focused on getting to my goal weight by my birthday!!!
