Two Years

Aug 24, 2008

It is so hard to believe it's been 2 years since surgery...I thank the Lord every day that I had a doctor that recommended me for the surgery and found a great surgeon that wasted no time in getting me seen, scheduled for surgery and on the road to a richer life.
The lowest weight I've been at is 112 pounds and up to 118 pounds. I'm wearing size 4 and happy with how I feel.
8 months after surgery I went to see a plastic surgeon, Dr. Holly Casey-Wall of the Wall Center located in Shreveport, LA. for breast enhancement and lift plastic surgery. I selected the saline implants...NO regrets and very happy with the outcome and new me.
I've had problems with ulcers but Dr. Stephanie has gotten rid of them.
With the weight that I was carrying around, it messed up my feet...resulting in severe bunions (hammer-toe) that require surgery. I am 4 weeks post-op for bunion surgery of my left foot...I've lost the arch in both feet but hopefully when both feet have had the bunion surgery I'll be walking better. I figure that I'll be having bunion surgery on the right foot sometime next year (spring 2009).
My eating habit means that I munch all day long (South Beach Diet cereal bars (high in protein); cheese-its; cheetoes; pinto/ranch beans; bluebell yogurt; lactose free cottage cheese; baked potato/yam with parkay fat free butter; reduced fat ritz crackers; tomato; lettuce; saltine crackers; breaded tilipia; venison...etc.). I am just now getting to where I can eat a bite or two of chicken or beef and I try to watch the fat and sugar intake.  If I get a really severe craving, I go ahead and try what I'm craving for...usually it doesn't taste as good as I remembered which I'm happy about.
I drink at least a gallon of liquid (Mandarin orange/mango Tea to Go with NatraTaste sweetener) mixed in a 32 oz rubbermaid container filled with ice and then water. It goes with me where-ever I go.
I've got wrinkles that I despise but figure another year and then I'll worry about them.
Picked up the Nitendo Wii and then the Wii Fit...best thing for me...I love the Wii Fit and recommend this for anyone that can't get to a gym or exercise class.

6 Months Post-Op and What a Difference

Feb 26, 2007

I look at myself in the mirror and keep wondering if what I see is really true. I'm down to 127 lbs from 207 six months ago. There is loose skin but have been faithfully scrubbing away with a loufa sponge and cellulite scrub...then applying cocoa butter lotion in some spots and either Avon's cellulite lotion or Arbonne's cellulite lotion where I've still got the cellulite pockets.  I'm trying to be faithful with the facial scrubs and creams twice a day but sometimes it's really hard...but the results are what counts.  I'm lucky, at 56 years young my skin is still resiliant and slowly shrinking back into place. I've been checking out scar creams and haven't decided on one yet...but looks like I'll pick something with a 'peptide' ingredient. I'm still mixing myself a protein powder drink so that I get at least 46 grams of protein from that until the duodenal ulcer that my surgeon found last Friday is healed and following her enlarging the opening exiting my stomach I should be able to start trying fish and poultry. I've read that dark chocolate (the higher the cocoa amount the better) is good for rebuilding the skin from inside out so went to Walmart and picked up some that was 70% cocoa...if it'll help reduce the wrinkles and the skin to be resiliant...I'll be happy!
