Lorie K.
I have been overweight since I was 11 years old. Through High School I stayed under 200 lbs but was still overweight. I got married to my wonderful husband May 1983 and over the years kept gaining more weight. I think I really increased my weight when my wonderful Dad passed away in 2001. From then on I put on the weight pretty rapidly. I have tried diet pills, and Weight Watchers atleast 4 times. I could lose weight on Weight Watchers but then after awhile I would gain it back and then some. Now my health was becoming an issue. I have pretty bad arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and high blood pressure.
Feb 14, 2006 my Grandson was born. As he gets older and wants to play, I could only sit on the floor for about 10 minutes then everything would fall asleep. Then I had a major struggle getting off the floor. I want to take my Grandson to the Zoo, play outside, sit in a sand box, play with him on the floor, etc......so the time has come that I needed to do something drastic!
SO....my surgery was December 20, 2006. The surgery went well. The first week was not good. I felt horrible. However, now I feel good. I have been walking a lot and that has made a tremendous difference. I have lost 34 lbs so far which is amazing to me. Having a wonderful husband that is supportive is a Blessing.
I have approximately 145 more pounds to lose. I am here to support any of you that needs encouragement and would love to receive words of wisdom. :-)
