Plateau

Jan 23, 2009

Seems that I keep hitting little plataus.  What is the average weight loss someone can expect per week or month?  I think I expect it to be instantaneous!  Right?  UM wrong :)

I am trying to make it a personal goal to drink more fluids, hard to get that 64 oz of h20 in a day, don't think I have done that yet.  Oh and vitamins!  who gets all those supplements in, i get my chewables, but the iron, not yet.  I have done a b12 shot.  and I need to do better with my calcium powder in my h20.  Also have to work out, haven't been doing that other than walking at work.

But on a postive note, clothes!!! I love to shop now.  I got a new bra and do the girls look GOOD.  I can't wait for underwear shopping as I keep going down.  Tomorrow we are going to a water park and I am wearing a suit that is 3 sizes smaller than my old one, and I am starting to wear tops from "regular" section of the store, granted they are a XXL, but they are not from the PLUS section, they are from the regular women's section, not the plus section.  OH! and SHOES!  I am wearing heels to work!  and my feet don't hurt.

I am 20 pounds away from what I weighed when I got married (260), then I will be getting into territory that I have not weighed for years, I got to 230 as the lowest weight ever when I was on Jenny Craig/but that was actually when I had the flu, I think....and I got into a very tight size 18 pant and went out dancing with friends. ...so that will be another 50 pounds from now.  We will see when that will be.

I really want to be below 200 :)  I do have to remember, I am only 70 days out from surgery today and I am 36 pounds down from surgery day.  I hope that is fairly "normal" .  But have to remember that defined "normal" for me may be different than someone else.

Until next time, ME :)

Christmas Eve

Dec 24, 2008

As of today I am down 45 pounds.  Have a new haircut and great eyebrows!  I am getting kinda frustrated with my clothing situation.  My clothes are too big but I don't know where to go to shop.  I went to Lane Bryant but even the clearance rack was too expensive.  Then I went to the thrift store and everything was elastic waistband, YUCK!  I will have to shop the after Christmas sales.  Started a tight size 28, now I am a comfortable size 26, probably a tight 24.  It is really fun to start to enjoy shopping though.  I can be excited to go shopping, knowing that I will be able to wear those clothes in 2009.  I also have been wearing heels to work, and my feet have been comfortable, I can't wait until I have a feminine wardrobe, heels, boots, skirts, dresses, jackets, nylons, slips, lace, lingerie...to be a real sexy woman who gets to wear it all.  And to buy it at whatever store I want.  That is my new year's resolution.  To have what I want in 2009.  I will get it this year.  Merry Christmas!!!

What a Happy Thanksgiving

Nov 29, 2008

I got to 299 on Thanksgiving 2008.  I have not been below 300 pounds for over 5 years.  Since I was pregnant with my daughter.  It feels so good!  A burden has been lifted, a mental one to say the least.  I know I still have a long journey, but it felt great to see that 3 leave the front of the scale!

Oh! and pureed diet began on Thansgiving too.  Man did that chicken taste great after a month of liquid.  I was on 2 week all liquid diet to get ready for sugery and 2 week all liquid post surgery.  Now I am finishing up a week of puree and moving to a 2 week puree/soft diet starting on this Thursday.  Protein tastes so good, cottage cheese, chicken, tuna, mashed eggs...I feel stronger already too.  My family has started going out for walks and I want to stay outdoors and do more.  I feel so good.

Counting the days until the puree begins.  I am starting to understand the meaning of "head hunger" too.  It is not hard to stay on track for my daily meals.  I eat around 8 am, at noon and at 6 or so at night.  Plus I am at home this week, it will be even easier I think to be on schedule next week when I return to work.  But I find myself thinking about things that I would "like to eat" or missing eating, even though I am not even remotely hungry.  I am finding things to do to distract myself, reading, watching tv, going on the computer, playing with my kids (at night, when they get home from daycare) or drinking water.  I know it will pass, but even last night, I dreamt I went to Taco Bell!!  Yikes.

Pounds are coming off fairly quickly, between a 0.8 and a pound a day, I can't wait until I get clearance to exercise too.

Today is November 19, 2008.  It is 1 week post surgery.  I am feeling pretty good.  My steri strips are not falling off, which is kinda ticking me off, I am trying to "work them off" like the nurse told me to, but they are not cooperating!  I am working to get my daily water intake in, and I have a sipping bottle that never seems to fully empty itself.  I do better if I have a glass.  But from the posts I have read from others, It surely helps with things like weight loss, and dry skin so I will keep pushing my water!

It is my 3rd week of all liquid.  2 weeks pre-surgery and now one week post.  I have to go one more week and then I can move to purees.
