Hi and welcome to my online journal! :)
Well where do I begin... I am 33, a wife and a mother of three, a son 13, daughter 10, and son 8. I haven't always been overweight, I was a medium built (never skinny) child, always tall for my age and big boned but not fat (at least I think haha). In my late teens I was around 155 or so and I realize now that was a nice weight for me but too much eating caught up with me!! lol I really noticed I had weight problems after I had my first son, I had just turned 20 when he was born and I have not been down below 200 since then..ughh!! I have been on every diet, starved myself, exercise nut, herbalife, you name it I tried it...lost some weight here and there, only to gain it back plus some! After all my beautiful babies were born, I was 24 years old and weighed about 260 or so, then in 1998 I found out I had a nodule on my thyroid...I had to have radioactive iodine treatment which did take care of the nodule but then about a year later also killed my good thyroid tissue, which made it so I now have to live on thyroid replacement (levoxyl). About this time I was so unhappy in my marriage, I had three little kids and went through so much emotional abuse in my marriage that it surely did not help my weight loss struggles. My ex actually got mad at me when I did lose weight. He always tried to sabotage me. I finally got the courage to change my life, and my kids lives, thank the Lord and I got out of my marriage in 2002. I began looking at weight loss surgery from this point...I figured I would never meet anyone that would love me being fat and with three kids (even though they are amazing kids!!) I read every detail I could get my hands on about the surgery and in the meantime I met the most WONDERFUL man (I really thought none existed!) I love to play computer games and I met him playing a game called Everquest. To make a long story short he came from England and met me (at my highest weight!! eek) and we fell in love and are now very happily married, with our three year anniversary coming up March 24, 2006! He has been so supportive to me during my journey I am forever grateful for him! So thats a little about me and now for the WLS story !
