7 months!

May 30, 2007

Well, can it be?! 7 months have flown by and the weight keeps coming off. I'm down 86.5 pounds now--am at 149 pounds and have a BMI of 24.8---less than my beautifully trim and fit boyfriend! The new pedals go on my mountain bike today--should be interesting thundering these thighs up the hill!
I am thankful to our almighty God and to dear Dr. John Yadegar and to all the staff at Lancaster Community Hospital and to Dr. Yadegar's staff in particular.

6 MONTHS!!

Apr 25, 2007

OH MY GOSH!! I can't believe how the time has flown! Yesterday was six months from my surgery date--today I am down 75.5 pounds--I can't believe it. Maybe another 25 or 30 pounds to go. I weigh 160--even if I got down to 140 I would be ecstatic. I am still a saggy maggie but better saggy and slim than solid and fat. I would do it all over again!

5 months!

5 month out...70 pounds gone and 35 to go. Who woulda thunk it. Lookin pretty decent with my clothes on--nakie is a different story--still kinda like a Jello representative but I'm workin on it. I'll take this look over my former look any day!

I never thought I'd be running/walking 3 miles at once -- on purpose! I am so thrilled to be feeling more fit, energized and normal. I am so grateful to my surgeon, Dr. Yadegar, and his staff for showing me the way to get to this point.
Do I have a long way to go? You betcha. I am not the least bit discouraged that I still have a long road ahead of me--at least I am on that road and headed in the right direction. Even though I am no slim bean just yet and don't expect I'll be in any beauty contests anytime soon--I feel so much more powerful than I did 55 pounds ago. And feeling powerful and in charge and in control is as beautiful as I ever want to be.
I tell everyone that wants to know about the surgery anything they want to know--right down to the nitty gritty.  One thing this whole experience has taught me is that to be well we have to be well informed.

Well who woulda thought I'd be up to 50 sit ups, 15 to 20 pushups and jogging every day? Certainly not me but I am. I'm losing very slowly but steadily. I am having no discomfort or complaints of any sort--other than some nagging knees! They don't appreciate my new found jogging! I am now at 191 (45 pounds lighter) and am aiming hard to be at my New Year goal of 189! My birthday is March 1 and I'm hoping to be 175--not gonna beat myself up if I don't make it--any weight loss is reason for celebration. I am really glad I had the operation and owe alot to Dr. Yadegar and his awesome team!

well, after a rocky start, I'm on to improving health and reduced weight. I'm down to a "mere" 195 pounds. I feel much better and am tickled by the new girl in me that is peeking out. I feel so much more confident these days--I have a little pep in my step these days.
Once again, ladies and gents, I cannot emphasize enough how important trust in your physician is. For those of us with children--ask: would I take my child to this doctor? For those of us in love--ask: would I put the life of my sweetie in the hands of this doctor?
I am so thankful for my physician...I feel he took care of me like one of his own children. I could not have asked for more--I wish all physicians were held to the standard that Dr. Yadegar holds himself to.
I will write again as I progress!

last day for real food

Oct 20, 2006

I can't seem to get my butt in gear to get the last few things I need to get done accomplished. Need to "step away from the computer". But this is my little safe domain--so here I sit.
Today is the last day for real food--10:30 a.m. and not a bite has gone past my chops--just coffee. So later I'll probably wanna eat the contents of the fridge--refrigerator and all.Just a couple more days and I'll be on my way.
Going to get as glam as I can--boyfriend won't recognize me--could be a good thing--LOL. Going to get hair done in a bit--so I guess I'd better get it in gear!!

PRE-OP YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Oct 18, 2006

I am sporting the most fashionable of accessories--a pre-op medical bracelet. Sure to catch everyone's eye--probably think I escaped from a looney bin. Had pre-op and all went well--all my paperwork was in perfect order--but of course--that's what I DO!
Gained 2.5 pounds--offered to try'n poop but no one seemed interested! Doc said I had done well-I am down 18 pounds from my start weight--only 90 to go! LOL!

Nervous? Should be but "NOPE"!

Oct 17, 2006

I should probably be as nervous as a whore in church (my apologies to any ladies of the evening out there!) but I have a calmness around me that I can only guess is a faith in God (who forgives me for my previous comment!).
I say this now, but wait till they slide my wide glide on that gurney!! LOL--if not for the bowel prep, I'd probably sh*t a brick!
