Slow moving...

Dec 17, 2009

I got on the scales and am down about 3lbs more.  It's really slow moving but I'm trying not to get discouraged.  I'm not going to change my ticker until tomorrow if I'm still there.  I have been able to eat small pieces of chicken but I use A1 sauce to add moisture and I'm sure it causes water retention.  It has been hard to control the urge to drink a coke.  And my husband works for a retirement community as the assistant director of maintenance, so them little ladies bake brownies and cookies and cakes for them.  I barred him from bringing them in the house.  Cookies I can deal with but cake/bread type sweets are my all time favorite!  Otherwise I'm doing good.  The holidays is a rough time to deal with this type of surgery and the limitations on your diet but hopefully it will make my will power stronger!  Starting Monday I am adding exercise to my daily regimen in hopes to boost weight loss.  I'll be 4wks post op and I do feel better just tired.  I had a total abdominal hysterectomy in March 09 so that's 2 major surgeries about 7 mos apart.  My dr said it will take time but I will feel better.  The weight that I've lost has made a difference.  I'm so blessed to have been able to have this surgery and a wonderful supportive husband.  He's done all the cooking since my surgery.  Now that I'm having some tiny bits of chicken I'm eating with them more.  I couldn't ask for a better support person in my life!
