The Journey Begins......
Jul 20, 2008
I had my Lap Band last Monday July 14, 2008, with a starting weight of 239 lbs. I was simply amazed at how good I felt after surgery, I know for most people this is an out patient procedure, however as I live over an hour away, I had to stay the night at the hospital. I sucked on ice chips and walked and walked, just to stave off boredom! The nurses tracked how many laps I made and on the first night I walked 2 miles, and did another 1/2 mile before I left in the morning.
It has been as difficult as I thought it would be, yet not. I'm not hungry and don't have too much problem getting in my 64+ oz of liquid daily. But, the cravings in my head at pretty tough at times. I truely didn't realize just how much of what I eat is habit and comes from my head not my stomach!!!
But so far, so REALLY GREAT!!! I have walked at least 1.75 miles every day with my Mom (she has lost 2 lbs this week!), and as of this morning I have lost 8 lbs!!! I really can't believe it. But I have to admit, I am already tired of just clear liquids, but in the end it will all be so worth it!
I look forward to making friends here and taking this journey together, so please join me as my journey begins.
