Losing at a slow pace

Oct 18, 2008

Not sure what in the heck is going on this week, but I didnt lose a single pound! UGH!!!!!!!!!!! Eating no junk--just protein and drinking my water.
An average day looks like this....
Breakfast 2 poached eggs
Snack-turkey slice and a string cheese
Lunch One can of tuna on a slice of toasted brownberry double protein bread. once Slice of cheese melted on top. ( lots of protein in this meal-its my fav)
Later afternoon snack-maybe a slice of turkey or two. Or a  yogurt.
Dinner-chili--or broiled chicken breast.

I am getting pretty close to 60 g of protein a day.

I will admit that I don't work out--guess its time to start to get the ball rolling again.

I was really hoping to be down one more pound by the 19th. My 2 month surgery date, then I would be down 40 pounds in 2 months. Gee...why can't I just be happy with what I've already accomplished? hehe

We will see what the morning brings. Hopefully I wont be swearing at the scale.

6 weeks out

Sep 28, 2008

I am about 6 weeks out of surgery and feeling really great. No problems so far * crossing fingers*  I have thrown up a couple times, but my own fault. I was trying to eat to fast on the go.  Right now I am eating deli meats , mozz string cheese , chili, eggs, lean meats cooked very tender and cut up small. I have been staying away from oatmeal, fruit etc just to try to get in all of my protein. I was on a slight stall for the past 10 days, but now the scale is moving again.
Down 30 pounds since surgery on August 19th. About 54 from seminar.

Feeling really great about my decision.

3 weeks post op

Sep 07, 2008

3 weeks out already?! Time has gone by fast. I have recovered well, no problems. Just a slight issue with one of my incisions, it's not all the way healed, kind of looks like it might be a tiny bit infected. I will have that checked right away this week, if it does not look better tomorrow.
Food wise, eating pureed foods. Oatmeal, cream of wheat, scrambled eggs, yogurt, sugar free pudding, refried beans with a bit of cheese.  Next week I think I will be ok'd to move to soft foods, it will be nice to have a few more choices. I am rarely ever hungry, and when I am-a few spoonfuls satisfies me.

I am down 18 pounds since surgery.

Surgery day is coming up fast

Aug 13, 2008

and I am ready to go. It seems like the path so far has been LONG. I am back on track after that dang 1/4 bag of doritos incident the other night. Who created those stupid things anyway?! lol
My Dr. wanted me to lose 15 by surgery day, and I am down 26 so far.

I am planning on going to the St Cloud coffee this Saturday...anyone else going?

10 days to go!!

Aug 09, 2008

10 days til my surgery. Wow...time is flying by. I have my days where I am asking myself what in the heck am I doing! But I know I am doing the right thing, it's just the nerves getting the best of me.
I put myself on a liquid diet a few days ago, it actually took me a few tries over the past few weeks to stay on it. Usually day number 2 I'd lose it and eat. But now i am on day 4 and doing well.  Trying to lose a few more pounds before surgery!
I went to my first Maple Grove coffee this morning, everyone was very nice and looked fabulous. I was inspired :)

Getting nervous about my appointment on Friday

Jul 08, 2008

Friday I have my appointment to see how my psych eval went. I will be honest, I am kind of worried.  First of all, it's pretty much my last road block. I don't know how picky they are to approve someone, But ugh..it would be such a HUGE disappointment to get declined my WLS now.  But my Dr. said if they find any issues, they will just make you have some counseling sessions to deal with them and not totally decline you.
Let's just hope I walk in and he says, you are good to go LOL. Otherwise It could be a very long day dealing with some old baggage- sigh..but maybe that would be a good thing too.

Just starting out!

Jun 26, 2008

I am excited to have found this site!  I have been preparing for my surgery for quite some time.  I guess I have finally let it sink in, that its going to really happen. I have done the majority of the testing, my dietician appointments, my mammogram, my pelvic exam, physical, psychological exam ( still need to meet with him on the results though). And have been ok'd with the insurance company. I have to schedule and pre op physical for a week before my surgery ( I think-need to double check that)
I am a married, mother of three. My life is super busy and I tend to not spend alot of time on myself. I need to change that and put myself at the top of the list for once. My weight has gotten totally out of control. I am not scared to have the surgery. Just hoping that I don't have any horrible side effects. Wish me luck!
